Holograms, virtual reality, robots, 3D walls, digitised human cadavers, AI... I am so jealous I didn't have a DigiLab at uni.
This media package has been a huge project for me and PR team - check out this thread or head over to the press release:

It was a joy to interview Colin - love how the video turned out 🌟
Doctor Who and Batman actor and @lboroalumni, @colinmcfarlane, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate this week! 🤩🎓
Colin, who graduated in 1983, was recognised for his outstanding contributions to the arts and his role in championing men’s health issues.
QI!!
Great to see QI sharing our tiny violin 🎻

Had a nice morning chatting to @LboroVC about the 'world's smallest violin' project - and we all got a snazzy badge🏅✨
Delighted to award a #VCGoldAward to the team behind "the world's smallest violin". The work was covered in over 200 media articles across 17 countries. A great example of explaining cutting-edge science in an engaging manner. @lborouniversity

And peek the 3D-printed tardigrades I gifted the team 👀
The tardigrade was used as a size comparison in our video and press release - here's footage of the one we featured in the video. I sourced this little water bear from moss near my house ⤵️

A tardigrade taking a walk🌊🐻
Captured this 'water bear' - or 'moss piglet' - with help from @lborogeog and @LboroMaterials (LMCC) colleagues.
This small friend is around 250 microns long (for scale, the diameter of a human hair is 80 microns).
Look at this incredible cake Prof Kelly Morrison made the PR team as a thank you for the world’s smallest violin project!
Incredibly kind and almost too cool to eat - but I have tucked in and I can now saw I’ve eaten the world’s smallest violin 🎻 😋

Our physicists have created ‘the world’s smallest violin’ using nanotechnology 🎻🔬
It's so small it fits on the width of a human hair and it demonstrates the capabilities of the University’s new nanolithography system.

So proud that my playful idea has helped shine a spotlight on the importance of experimental physics.
It's been amazing to hear Prof Morrison speak on national and international platforms about the groundbreaking research this project will enable.
Biggest story of my career!🎻

What an incredible week of coverage!
I can’t believe my silly idea to create a teeny tiny meme to highlight this new tech—and the amazing research it’s enabling—has led to global attention.
And Professor Morrison's interviews have been incredible - will share links soon!🎻
Beyond chuffed with this story - we made 'the world's smallest violin' with some amazing nanotechnology 🎻
Loughborough Physicists have used cutting-edge nanotechnology to create what they believe is ‘the world’s smallest violin’! 🎻
The violin is small enough to fit on the width of a human hair and demonstrates the capabilities of the University’s new nanolithography system.

It’s official. I’ve finished my biology degree, having completed my viva this morning 🐙 🥳
What an adventure. I am so proud of myself and studying science has made me fall in love with life.

New phase transition just dropped! 🧊 ➡️💧
This study is a cool example of how AI can aid with unearthing new knowledge and the findings could help with the development of next generation tech ⚛️ 🤖
A team of physicists – including @Tapio_ala and a Nobel Prize winner – has used artificial intelligence to uncover how layered materials melt and shift between physical states when confined to two dimensions.

Love it when cuttlefish have dilated pupils like this. They look so cute and dopey.
🦑📷Stickpen

ALT A Pharaoh cuttlefish (Acanthosepion pharaonis) swimming in an tank at the Birch Aquarium and facing the camera. Its fins are flapping and its arms are held together. Its body is level. Its pupils are dilated, so they are quite large with a slight concave curve at the top, giving it a dopey or sleepy look. The cuttlefish is greyish beige with white spots.
Congrats to the team on their new @PhysRevLett paper 🎉
Scientists have revealed how tiny swimming cells– such as sperm and bacteria – are able to move faster when travelling as a group 🦠🌊
And the research could help with the development of microscopic drug-delivering robots!💊🤖
