Have been thinking about how important books and stories are going to be when pupils return to school, so here's a short thread with a few recommendations. Feel free to add more.
Some picturebooks that can lead to really thoughtful discussions.

For a lot of children, the classroom is their only source of access to books. They don't go to the local library. They don't go to bookshops or get bought books as gifts. That's why the books that schools have on their shelves need to reflect their pupils and the lives they lead.

One of our previous students, @MegWebb98 created a fantastic Y6 plan around it and even created her own mini 'Fear' too - very talented. app.box.com/s/q319qzk337kl1v…

This year I’ve been trying to read more graphic novels. I’ve started to add them to my class library and the reaction from the children has been fantastic. It’s great to see children who wouldn’t usually pick up a book smile with pride after finishing a whole novel!
Year 3 @CourthouseJS have been working hard on their Iron Man drawings. They look great! @BeccaPulsford @chrismouldink
