One of the best things you can do as a creative of any skillset is to stop with the endless how-tos, quit comparing yourself to others constantly, and choose to struggle through the task a little every day.
Experience is the best teacher.
I just realized this. You know got me interested in art? It wasn't always the final product, although that was a factor. It was behind-the-scenes documentaries or seeing "how it was made". It was always the process that intrigued me.

I, like many other artists, seem to quantify my ability to create based on how many finalized pieces I produce. Yet all along, I wanted to create FOR the process. I like to feel I'm accomplishing things even if the going is slow, even if the thing is never done.

For many, many moons, I've been learning how to write a novel. It's the most difficult and most time consuming thing I've ever tried.
I'll be talking about this more in the distant future, but for now the struggle continues.
Stay disciplined. Stay committed. Keep learning.
If you look back on your past work with disgust, that doesn't mean you are bad at what you do—only that you have grown to see the flaws.
Don't let that momentum go to waste. Learn from your mistakes, and you'll improve.

Art is strange.
There’s always the clash of what we as creatives think is good vs. what others think. And then we intentionally adapt our style to others’ tastes and vise versa until both sides perceive they have achieved something of “greater value” due to its broad appeal.
Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
I'm so thankful! 🙏
I often fail at my own advice, but it is something to strive for. When I lack motivation or think I'm not "ready", 9/10 the best way I move past these lulls is to simply do the thing.
Now get to work!
It's been two years since I last added to my Bible build collection. I may have gotten a bit side-tracked... I'm glad David is finally complete!
