Y’all this was soooooooo much fun!!!
Our latest episode is here! Our first farmHer and rancHer guest! In conversation with Megan Brown @MegRaeB.
We talk about the struggles of farming in California, her relationship with consumers & her experiences with sexism in agriculture.

Watching agriculture's Pick Me women still act like what trump has done and is doing to agriculture is normal and ok makes me feel even sorrier for them. Imagine being that far removed from real life. Imagine needed validation that badly.

For all you know, this person could be the caregiver for an organ transplant recipient on immosuppressive therapy. Or any number of things. I think getting bent out of shape over strangers' practices that affect you 0% is a mental illness.
Spotted a woman inside Trader Joe’s wearing a mask.
Stepped outside to load my groceries and there she was, mask on in 100° weather with nobody else around.
At this point, it has to be a mental illness, would you agree?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The CDC's non-COVID-19 guidance says wearing a mask is practical if "You or the people around you have risk factors for severe illness," amongst other reasons.

Also, Dr. Dawn Michael's title comes from a PhD in Human Sexuality. She has no medical qualifications.
I believe that many men and women in ag don't understand what sexism is. Also I think the agholes who try and rage bait me are just looking for a dominatrix and I have given thought about starting an OF so I can buy another ranch.
Yes, a man that is in an industry that is predominately male has experienced no sexism. I believe it
Looks like my family has been in the game for longer than yours.
Replying to @MegRaeB
I wish you the best, but you have some unresolved darkness in you that needs therapy.
You will find you need as many allies as you can get if you want to make it in ranching long term.
Without them, your neighbors will sit by when the enemies of our industry come for you.
I don't twitter much anymore, I wanted to update the agholes on agtwitter who radicalized me when I started speaking up about the sexism in ag. I'm the first female ranch owner on my family running a female crew - from vets to interns. I am walking the walk. I am being the change
One of the biggest regrets of my life is talking about mental health in agriculture on that podcast. It put me in the crosshair of agriculture so when I started talking about 'isms in ag, I became a target. I lost my love for the industry and the people in it.
Me: Agriculture, a mainly white, male industry has a sexism, racism problem.
Agriculture: Well it's your attitude. If you didn't point that out, we'd like you.
Me: .....
Agriculture: Yep, YOUR attitude. If you "behaved" everything would be fine
Watching my local cattlewomen group fold because they couldn’t get new members was sad. I read an article last night where other ag groups are having trouble getting new membership. (Sarcasm font:) I just can’t imagine why?

I had a cow step on my toe today and I'm pretty sure it's broken or the nail is coming off because I've been dry heaving from the pain of walking since it happened. I'm being very precious
It's been a minute since I made waves on agtwitter for my stance that sexism exists in agriculture. I think 2017/18 was the heyday? Little baby ag nuggets are still mad over it. I'm jealous that I am still in their heads after all that has happened since then.
I'm getting a lot of resources to help be a caregiver. My Mom is now getting in house support. Things are getting better for both of us.
The thought of caring for both my parents this winter, alone, scared me. I would have broke. I think Dad knew that.
Facebook is messing with the memories feature and I am livid. That's my favorite thing about facebook.
As a writer, I feel it's my obligation to write a good obit for my Dad. But he really never cared about that aspect of my life and didn't want one. We loved each other, deeply, but our relationship was so difficult. Navigating his post life has been very hard.
I miss the twitter of before times. This used to be my safe place. I still mourn for it. Especially when I am going through it.
