New feature alert: Refer a friend
Our users love Kin. They kept asking us if we could build an in-app referral system so they could spread the love. Live now, inside Kin!
And coming next week: monthly drawings to reward referrals (you know you want a sick Kin corduroy ballcap - it's gonna be the hot fashion staple for Fall 2026 🧢).

One measure of PMF: when the product (@MeetKinHealth) is so delightful, your users actually look forward to an otherwise painful and confusing experience (doctor’s appointments) just so they can use it 👩🍳

We've all been trying to play the multiplayer game of healthcare with single-player tools.
Introducing family tasks in Kin - now see a consolidated list of all the action items your care circle needs to take, so you not only stay informed, but can also tag in and help your loved ones make progress.
Making @MeetKinHealth better for our tens of thousands of users, every single day!

The frequency with which I hear doctors malign the era of the empowered, informed patient is saddening. This is most evident in some clinicians' bristling at the word 'consumer' used to describe patients.
Our patients in the exam room are by definition consumers and customers of the service (healthcare) we deliver. Except for truly emergent care (which likely makes up less than 10% of healthcare service delivery in this country), all patients think about what could be considered 'consumer' criteria: price, convenience, and access.
@medcitynews and @HWildCatters thank you for pulling together what will be an excellent conversation around convenience being a core feature patients increasingly demand in healthcare. I'm ready with my hot takes; see you in Dallas!

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined @DrParikhMBA and the team at Kin Health as an executive advisor (in addition to my role leading @SCANHealthPlan).
The team at Kin is changing how patients engage with their patient care.
I shared some of my perspective on why empowering patients at the point of care is so important in a new perspective that was published today in @medcitynews.

Fantastic conversation with the team at @pearvc, and particularly timely in light of Washington state's decision to limit patient access to the outputs of clinician-owned ambient scribes. Full link in comments to Substack and Podcast via @PearHealthPod

Fantastic idea. We've already built and launched the app that does this, and it's completely free! @MeetKinHealth is in the hands of tens of thousands of Americans across the country, many of whom are NOT AI-native. Welcome to the new era of empowered patients in our system!!

Kyle Alwyn '15 already sold one health startup to GoodRx. Now he's built Kin, an AI app that helps patients remember what happened at their dr visits. Patients forget up to 80% of what's said in an appt. @MeetKinHealth raised $9 million in seed funding. go.scu.edu/4wV873X

@AmitParikhMD, @kjalwyn, and I started @MeetKinHealth with a BIG vision in mind: to bring the personal health record that has eluded our system for decades into every American's pocket.
Listen in to hear the why behind Kin, more about what we're building, and how it bridges to this future. Kin's understanding layer today is the perfect bridge to our action layer later this year, and to a comprehensive PHR soon.

I both agree and disagree. A patient scribe in and of itself could be a challenging business to defend. A patient scribe that captures the hearts and minds of clinicians, patients, and caregivers, and builds an action layer on top of the understanding layer, is what our healthcare system has been missing for decades.
If early feedback, traction, and insights from our @MeetKinHealth users and recommending clinicians are a signal, 2026 is the year we see a step change in the way MANY Americans understand, engage with, and are empowered in their healthcare journeys.
Happy to find more time to discuss our vision, cc @AmitParikhMD @kjalwyn
