यूपी के मैनपुरी जिले, एक गांव में पांच साल की एक बच्ची खेलते-खेलते अनजाने में पड़ोसी के खेत में चली गई। इस पर खेत मालिक सुधीर कुमार ने अपने साथियों के साथ मिलकर मासूम को रस्सी से बांध दिया और लाठी-डंडों से बेरहमी से पीटा। बेटी की चीख-पुकार सुनकर उसकी असहाय गर्भवती मां बीच-बचाव करने पहुंची, तो आरोपियों ने उसे भी लात-घूसों से बेरहमी से पीट डाला।
पीड़ित मां किसी तरह कोतवाली पहुंची और पुलिस को आपबीती सुनाई। मां के पास इस पूरी हैवानियत का एक वीडियो सबूत भी मौजूद था, जिसे उन्होंने पुलिस अधिकारियों को सौंप दिया है। वीडियो में आरोपियों की बर्बरता साफ दिख रही है।

Allahabad High Court suspends conviction of murder convict who wishes to contest election on BJP ticket.
According to media reports, Rai was among those convicted for the murder of Pramod Kumar Nigam, an active member of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
However, Rai's counsel told the High Court that he was an active worker of the BJP before his conviction, and desires to contest the 2027 elections "as independent candidate or if possible from BJP."
