Flags matter to us - and we will always be proud our nation, our culture and our heritage. But we will only tolerate symbols of these things being used to knit our community together, not tear it apart.
Weβre proud to announce Douglas Hamandishe as our nominee for Mayor, alongside Sharon Jackson for Deputy Mayor. A strong and dedicated team ready to lead our community, bringing people together, and working every day to make our area an even better place to live, work and grow.

Today we proudly raised the Red Ensign to mark Merchant Navy Day. We honour the bravery and sacrifice of the Merchant Navy, past and present, whose service has kept our nation supplied in peace and in war.
Great to meet with Medwayβs Labour MPs in Parliament today to discuss Local Plans, local government funding, health provision in Medway and SEND pressures.

If we checked when @medway_councilβs staff were working from home - we are confident it would show hundreds of employees working outside of their contracted hours. Answering emails at 8pm. We know council staff give up their Christmas Days to open up sports centres for showers.
Kent County Council spends Β£100,000,000 of taxpayer money per year on employees that βwork from homeβ.
Reformβs DOGE team spent several days there and the office was a wasteland.
Nobody working.
The CEO says these employees have monitoring software on their laptops but she does not βactively checkβ whether their employees are using them.
Kent Council is refusing point blank any analysis of the (anonymised) data.
I wonder why?
There is much, much more to reveal about just how much Kent Council is taking advantage of taxpayers.
Reform UK once again proving that they know nothing about any of the councils they are running. And this KCC owned recruitment company has been audited by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, not an Elon Musk wannabe and dodgy Farage donor.
