Startups can achieve SOTA. You love to see it.
CodeStory agent is now SOTA on swebench-verified with 62.2% resolution rate. We did this by scaling our agent on test time inference and re-learning the bitter lesson. Sonnet3.5(new) was the only LLM we used for this run

Flexible work arrangements don’t slow down our work. Understaffing, shifting priorities, constant layoffs, stagnant wages and lack of follow-through from management on projects - these factors slow Google workers down every day. sfgate.com/tech/article/eric…

Time pressure creates lasting damage even in the best of projects — can’t go against the project management triangle
“Swift, the original idea was factor complexity (…) massively failed, in my opinion (…) Swift has turned into a gigantic, super complicated bag of special cases, special syntax, special stuff” lesson learned from Chris Lattner on Swift

Tech gave me everything I have Its capacity to lift people into abundance is incredible and there is nothing like it We must make that into prosperity for everyone
"I realized tech is this thing that can bring people out of whatever situation they're in and often into prosperity. And that's what I want for everyone." @ycombinator’s @garrytan tells @emilychangtv how tech changed his family's life. Watch here: trib.al/sxg1VGR

This is what programming should be like, with immediate feedback you your edits. Similar to painting or working with clay. (Instead, so many of us just write code hoping it’ll do what we want, to the best of our efforts. Then slowly build, test and deploy before we get answers.)
Using the #picotron code editor to edit itself.

I see so many tweets about agile, epics, scrums, story points, etc. and none of it matters. We didn’t use any of that to ship the best products years ago at Apple.

SwiftUI allows you to move so incredibly fast that by the time you realise what you want isn’t yet possible, you’re already off the edge of the cliff, like Wile E Coyote
When making a case for cross platform alignment being cheaper, it’s important to understand *why* it’s positioned as cheaper. More often than not, it’s because entire classes of long-tail features aren’t being considered (usually accessibility related, often UX related).

“[Apple] shall allow and provide the readily accessible means for users […] to install third-party Apps or App Stores through means other than its App Store” HELL yeah — just a matter of time until I can distribute Delta without ridiculous workarounds 🙏 xitter.cf/Techmeme/status/142552…

Should mental privacy be a human right? @yusterafa thinks it should be. His Columbia @neuro_rights Initiative is working on a set of #NeuroEthics principles that create human rights to help guide us through XR + neuro-technologies. Here's my conversation: voicesofvr.com/994-neuro-rig…

Introducing Plot Components - a new way to build HTML pages using a very SwiftUI-like API 🚀 I've been working on this for over a year, and it's already being used to render Swift by Sundell. Fully documented, tested, and ready for production - enjoy! 😀 swiftbysundell.com/articles/…

Setting a random background color is a great way to detect an accidental SwiftUI loop. The tricky part is understanding what triggers the loop tho.

Good questions for Release Notes: - Who is the target audience? - What changed in this release? Why? 🤔 - How does the change impact the user? 🔑 - Is the tl;dr clear? 🙂 tl;dr: "Loads faster with fewer crashes" Detail: "Added list virtualization. Reduced OOMs by 20%" etc.

An entire marketplace should not be guided by how much a company can get away with without backlash. Please listen to your developers Apple — both big and small — and realize changes need to happen, or else you’ll just keep hurting those who love you most :( – at McManus, Culver City

AltStore’s primary goal is to demonstrate what is possible for the platform when Apple doesn’t act as a gatekeeper. We *love* developing for iOS — all we want is to build the best apps possible 🙂
This is important. @AltStore proves that there are viable business models to fund free software development that are against Apple’s App Store rules.
