I’m working on a story about the actors/writers strike — any Disney employees out there? Text me via signal at 202-510-1268; my DM is also open. I’ll protect your anonymity.

I have image display disabled in Tweetdeck by default so I genuinely clicked on this thinking to see a huge WGA picket line. I did not expect an actual fire. 😐
The WB lot is on fire right now.

Exactly. There's a good amount of dialogue we write in post that the actors come back to record (called ADR), to help bridge story gaps or clarify a plot point. We'll also edit dialogue together in different ways to 'rewrite' it. Writing at every stage of the process. #WGAStrong

The body found in the California mountain range was confirmed to be actor Julian Sands, who went missing several months ago nixle.us/EJLE5

Yes, we just made the process by which we assign scripts to readers even better for both the writers who submit and our readers.
Writers, an important blcklst.com update to share: we’re improving our process for matching writers and readers!

Predictable after Elon said copyright law “goes absurdly far beyond protecting the original creator.” Now he can test his theory!….

Just to clarify, many writers expect the DGA will cut a sweetheart deal. It's in their history and DNA. But if/when they do, that won't end our strike.

the studios have lost more money in 3 weeks of writers strike than the WGA is asking for total in 3 years, and i feel like even A.I. could figure out what to do here

Yes, in the first week of the strike, @WGAEast pickets, with staunch help from @IATSE, managed to disrupt production on: Billions Evil American Horror Story Severance It's almost too on the nose. Almost. #WGAStrong

It's nearly impossible to do that...the IA doesn't even recognize that they *are* writers, they're classified as "story board artists" so little to no residuals, and no, you can't appeal any of that, which is why so many animation writers want into the WGA.
Replying to @straczynski
different unions? Must be risky for animation writers to strike.

Cool News: Tony Gilroy, creator/writer of @starwars #Andor, just announced that they are launching a website soon with all 12 scripts & tons of concept art - all free to read! He worked really hard on his scripts & is proud of the way they turned out- they are production drafts.

No. An unskilled writer may learn the form and pick up a few tricks, but fails largely because they have nothing to say. AI can learn those same tricks, copy styles, tell stories, but they will not have something to *say* that got caught in their filter at age seven and bent them
Replying to @straczynski
@straczynski do you foresee a future in the writing industry where real writers will have to compete with ai writing for scripts and books? If so, how do you think the writing industry will try and combat that possibility?
