🗣️During this year's @UNEPMAPNews SC meeting, MedCities Secretary General, @AleixVillatoro , served as Rapporteur, contributing to the discussions on the implementation of the MSSD 2026-2035 and supporting the preparation of the meeting's conclusions and recommendations.
The 27th MCSD Steering Committee meeting opened in Athens, following the adoption of the MSSD 2026–2035 at #COP24Med.
🇪🇺 From @EUinmyRegion #EURegionsWeek we raised the voice of #localauthorities through presidency, @ClareLouHart ( @montpellier_ ). As #MedCoopAlliance members, we talked about #policy measures in #territory to make the Pact for the Mediterranean work in different key areas.
🌊 #MedCities participated in the creation of the @Gov4Nature Mission's 'Catalogue of Best Governance Practices'.

We discussed draft policy recommendations building on 4 thematic project experiences, lessons learned, and conditions for replication & scale-up. #SDG6 was the star!
♻️ Intense 2-day #Gov4GreenMed (@interregnextmed ) project mid-term event exchange session! The project focuses on improving municipal solid #waste + #food waste management across the #Mediterranean by designing and implementing inclusive, participatory local governance models.
♻️ MedCities supports the municipalities of @ANTALYABB , #EinAlBasha, @Mancoplana , #Nabeul + #Scandicci, from which we heard an overview of the pilot implementation progress they make to design a roadmap for the implementation of participatory collaboration for #wastemanagement.
In the interactive session chaired by #MedCities, ambassadors from each territory presented the pilot roadmaps in a peer-review session and underlined the importance of trust, #governance coordination, and continuity of pilot actions beyond the project lifetime.#Gov4GreenMed
💧 @Wefe4Med Workshop at #MediterraneanWaterForum! We participated as a project partner in the session 'From #WEFE Nexus Experience to Wider Uptake: Lessons, Enabling Conditions and Future Action' to share the outputs and achievements and showcase implementation experiences
💧From #MedCities we contributed to bringing together different perspectives from across and beyond the Mediterranean @Wefe4Med Nexus community. The exchanges included practical experiences of #WEFE Nexus implementation from selected demonstrators in the community of practice
🗣️ We talk about how local & #metropolitan cities face constraints in integrating the #WEFENexus into daily practice. Our #JointPosition shares key recommendations 6 calls on EU, national, regional, and financial institutions to provide support to make local commitments viable!
