If you read, and retweet, one post on Gaza this weekend let it be this
In Haaretz Hebrew, 22 May, former Israeli PM Olmert says he used to think that the mass killing of civilians in Gaza was a result of a "tragic war" & he denied the charges of genocide & war crimes, but now he thinks: it is an intentional annihilation. archive.ph/3vvOi

Locals shuffle in chapel gloom,
grim feet thumping earth in spiteful raindance prayer—
six weeks’ sun too bright for comfort.
Heaven listened; rain washed tourists
flee from smiling sands - like ants
to cower, miserably
in peak rate bank holiday lets.

For clarity, Nick Kemp, John Stokel-Walker, Marion Williams, Dave Wood, Margaret Wood, and Stevie Wood (no relation) resigned from Labour today. Habib Rahman resigned in January.
The others were elected as independents, and Tracey Mitchell, Adam Mitchell and Nix Joanne (not shown) were elected as Newcastle Independents. There are also Greens Nick Hartley and Khaled Musharraf plus Lib Dems, and 1 Conservative on the council.
I'm mentioning people here for info, it does not automatically imply their support for a progressive alliance.
