I highkey agree with this cause it bothered me too. Raccoon City barely feels like Raccoon City, Umbrella has almost no presence, and the villains don’t have that classic RE corporate/bio-weapon connection. Even the monsters feel like they belong in a completely different horror movie. The final creature especially feels like they designed something cool first and then remembered they had to call it Resident Evil.

One thing I don’t like about the new #residentevil Raccoon City in name only, Umbrella mentioned for 2 seconds and made to look like a bunch of worthless fools, stalker that has no reason to be this obsessed with the protag, nothing that’s exclusive to RE as a IP. More inspired by the The Thing than Resident Evil, the “final boss” is more of a Katamari Ball than Nyx, which is the closest thing I could think of that resembles that bs creature. Plenty of survival horror elements, nothing RE beyond the name.
