Jeff Overton. What a stud. Hits a homer as he tries to call game in the rain.
VT still has to put this one away. But this was big time.

The gospel presentation does not begin with:
“God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.”
It begins with:
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.”
-Romans 1:18
You have sinned against a holy God. You stand condemned under His righteous judgment. You cannot save yourself, and apart from Christ, you will face His wrath for eternity.
That is the bad news.
And you need to hear the bad news before you can understand the good news.
The gospel is not that God has a better life waiting for you.
The gospel is that Christ came to save sinners from the wrath they rightly deserve.
He lived the righteous life you could never live.
He died the death you deserved to die.
He bore the wrath of God in the place of His people.
He rose from the grave.
And everyone who repents and believes in Him is justified, forgiven, and reconciled to God.
Don’t soften the bad news and you won’t have to dilute the good news.
The glory of grace shines brightest against the darkness of our sin.

Christians are being slaughtered for their faith.
In Nigeria, 30 Christians were just murdered as they prepared for church services, and a pastor and father of five was abducted and killed.
In just days the ACLJ will take the persecution of Nigeria’s Christians directly to the U.N. Human Rights Council.
We will not be silent. Take action with us: aclj.pulse.ly/x41zo0bulb

SIN HAS CONSEQUENCES — EVEN AFTER REPENTANCE.
Repent.
When God forgives your sin, His mercy is complete. But forgiveness does not always erase every consequence of what you have done.
If you damage someone's reputation, asking God for forgiveness does not automatically restore that person's opinion of you.
If you steal, repentance does not remove the responsibility to make restitution where possible.
If you hurt someone, forgiveness does not necessarily make the wound disappear immediately.
This is why repentance is more than simply saying, “God, forgive me.”
Where possible, you must make things right. You must accept correction. You must change your ways. You must allow God's grace to repair what sin has damaged in your life and in the lives of others.
Think about it this way: a father can forgive his child while still allowing that child to face the consequences of a wrong decision and learn from it.
God's mercy forgives us, but His grace also purifies and transforms us.
So never use God's mercy as an excuse to take sin lightly.
Repent completely. Turn away from sin. Make restitution where you can. Accept godly correction. Do works of love and mercy. Allow God to transform your character.
God does not forgive you so that you can remain the same person.
He forgives you, cleanses you, and teaches you how to walk in holiness.
Don't play with sin because you know God is merciful.
Sin is serious. Repentance is serious. God's mercy is greater.
If this message has blessed you, please share it with your friends and groups. Someone may need to hear this today.
God bless you.

WHY DOES GOD ALLOW GOOD PEOPLE TO SUFFER WHILE WICKED PEOPLE PROSPER?
One of the hardest questions a Christian can ask is this:
“If God is good, why am I suffering while people who do evil seem to be enjoying life?”
You pray, you obey God, you try to live right, yet you watch people who lie, cheat, manipulate and reject God seem to move ahead of you.
Here is the secret many people miss.
Your present situation is not the final evidence of God’s judgment.
The Bible says, “Do not fret because of evildoers.” Psalm 37:1
Why?
Because what you see is only a small part of the story.
A wicked person can have money without having peace.
They can have popularity without having purpose.
They can have possessions without having eternal life.
They can appear to be winning while secretly losing everything that truly matters.
And sometimes, God allows the wicked to prosper for a season because His judgment is not always immediate.
Psalm 73 describes a man who became troubled because he saw wicked people prospering while he was suffering. He almost concluded that serving God was useless.
But something changed when he entered the presence of God.
He began to see the bigger picture.
This is important:
Do not judge your entire life by one chapter.
Joseph suffered before he became a ruler.
David was hunted before he became king.
Job lost much before restoration came.
Jesus Himself suffered before the resurrection.
Sometimes suffering is not punishment.
Sometimes it is preparation.
Sometimes it is correction.
Sometimes it is the consequence of living in a broken world.
And sometimes, we simply do not know why God permits a particular suffering.
That last answer requires humility.
Not every tragedy has a simple explanation.
But here is what we do know.
God is not measuring your worth by how comfortable your life looks.
Your suffering does not mean God has abandoned you.
And someone else's prosperity does not mean God approves of their life.
Never envy a person simply because their life looks better than yours.
You do not know what is happening behind the appearance.
The real question is not, “Why are they ahead of me?”
The deeper question is, “Am I still trusting God while I am waiting?”
Because faith is easy to talk about when everything is working.
But real faith says:
“Even when I do not understand God, I will not abandon Him.”
Your season may be painful, but it is not necessarily permanent.
And the prosperity of the wicked is not the final chapter.
God sees what people cannot see.
So keep walking.
Keep praying.
Keep your heart clean.
Keep doing what is right.
Do not allow someone else's temporary success to make you abandon your eternal purpose.
What looks like a delay may be preparation.
What looks like silence may not be absence.
And what looks like the wicked winning may only be a temporary chapter in a story whose ending God has already seen.

Average lifespan: eighty years. Forty of them wasted on an employer who will not remember you seven days after you quit or die.
You get a wife and kids. They’ll talk about you for one generation. After that, you’re a name on a stone.
Then you’re gone. Ecclesiastes 9:5—the dead know not any thing. The memory of them is forgotten. You have no more portion in anything done under the sun.
Hell is worse. The lake of fire is final. Nobody on earth remembers those souls. Nobody in heaven will remember them either while they suffer eternity.
Get your name in the Book of Life. It is written in the blood of the Lamb—or it is not written at all. Don’t reject existing

Four sobering truths from Scripture:
• Your days on earth are numbered (Psalm 90:12)
• Hell is real and eternal (Matt. 25:46)
• Moral deeds cannot save anyone (Eph. 2:8–9)
• Only Jesus can forgive your sins (Acts 4:12)
