Incredibly humbled that my colleagues voted to award me the Freedom of the Borough. As someone born and bred in Gravesend, it means the world to be awarded the highest honour my community can bestow. Serving my hometown remains the privilege of a lifetime.

It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel.
If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

A horrific night for Ukraine. Russia again used ballistic missiles to target energy as winter nears. Civilians, including children, were killed in attacks across the country. We stand with Ukraine and continue supporting efforts to protect its skies. – at Ukraine
Very much thinking of everyone in the Chernihiv Region after the devastating attack that has injured many. Children are once again amongst the dead. When will the world wake up and take action against the Russian Terrorists.

❗️Unfortunately, two people were killed in Sumy today as a result of a hostile strike.
They are an elderly woman and a 16-year-old girl.
The enemy attacked the city again with three guided aerial bombs. One of the strikes hit near the building of the Family and Children Support Center. The building is damaged. There were no visitors there at the time of the strike.
Five more people were injured, including one child.

Thank you to the United Kingdom for a new defence contribution of £100 million – the “winter package” – to PURL. This support will be channelled, in particular, toward the procurement of additional Patriot interceptors, which is an absolute priority amid Russia’s unrelenting attacks on critical infrastructure and life itself. The strikes since last night and into today alone have claimed 2 lives and left 23 people wounded in Kyiv. We also value our active cooperation across other areas: localising Storm Shadow production in Ukraine, joint work on drones and AI, and much more.
I thank Prime Minister Andy Burnham @andyburnham, Defence Secretary Wes Streeting @wesstreeting, Parliament, and all the people of Britain for your unwavering support – in many ways, leading the way among our partners. Today is the first day of school in Ukraine. But last night, Russian attacks killed at least 12 people and injured children.
This morning, many more children went to school sleep-deprived, in fear of hearing the alert again.
