Haryana, representing about 2% of the country's population, has sent the highest number of 24 athletes to the Olympics i.e. 20% of India’s 117-athlete contingent. Despite this, the state has been allocated only Rs 97 crore under the Khelo India scheme. In contrast, Gujarat, which has sent just 2 athletes to the Olympics, received Rs 606 crore. Additionally, UP, with only 6 athletes competing in Paris, has been allocated Rs 502 crore.
