The state has declared liberal leave from 6:00 a.m. until the end of day shift, Friday, July 17, 2026 for non-emergency essential employees whose assigned duties require them to work outside.
These employees may use liberal leave between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and the end of day shift upon notification to the employee’s supervisor.
The state has declared liberal leave for Garrett County from 6:00 a.m. until the end of day shift today, March 17, 2026.
Non-emergency essential employees who report to the office may use liberal leave between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and the end of day shift upon notification to the employee’s supervisor.
Update on the status of State offices and facilities:
State offices and facilities in Baltimore City and all counties except for Garrett, Allegany, and Worcester Counties will be closed from noon until 9:00 p.m. on March 16, 2026.
The State has declared liberal leave for Baltimore City and all counties other than Garrett, Allegany, and Worcester counties from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on March 16, 2026.
Non-emergency essential employees who report to the office may use liberal leave between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. upon notification to the employee’s supervisor.
Update to the status of State offices and facilities:
On February 23, 2026, State offices and facilities in Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne's, Caroline, Talbot, Dorchester, Wicomico, Somerset, and Worchester counties will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to the end of day shift.
For all other counties and Baltimore City, the state has declared liberal leave from 6:00 a.m. until the end of day shift on February 23, 2026. Employees who are telework eligible and scheduled to telework, should telework as scheduled unless leave is granted.
