Big day for the Europeans today in the Ryder Cup If they can win today’s series I can’t see them being beaten If Rory plays with Shane Lowry this afternoon in the fourballs I hope he tees off first He is used to leading and I think it could make a difference in their performance

True resilience from a great competitor and now Europes first Grand Slam Champion What an honest effort from Rory McIlroy A true inspiration for everyone young and old golfers or not who be raising a glass to him in celebration

What a real privilege to watch @McIlroyRory gamely trying to win his second Irish Open this week On undoubtedly his toughest golf test of the year at Royal Co Down his shotmakings skills were off the charts and good times can only be around the corner if he stays true to himself

Great moment for Alex yesterday Easts win the Shute Shield for first time in 55 years Thanks to Jack Kate Julie and all his friends for the tremendous support in Sydney

Crazy situation developing LIV withdraw their OWGR review application Expect a huge effort from LIV to secure McIlroys services He alone can change this narrative A LIV OWGR solution based on weight of participating field and players getting 3 quarters of normal OWGR points?

Dunlaps win is a Classic example of how spectacularly wrong the PGA Tours decision is to bow to current superstars by pursuing even more money for them over providing greater platforms for sporting talents who will always emerge in professional sports if afforded opportunities

IMO the PGATOUR can not be allowed to accept a commercial partnership with a country that openly flouts International and Human Rights Laws The PGATour must stand for something other than hungry commercialism If the individual players want to court that space fine - not the Tour

The PGA Tours overreaction to the perceived threat of LIV Golf has seen them abandon their charitable status which was a huge tax carrot for Sponsors They have abandoned other 50 year relationships to get into bed with an dubious unproven partner Players win / Tour loses big time

Hard not to lose a lot of respect for the Professional Golf Tours at the moment They have over reacted to player power and forgot all about their long-standing relationships with sponsors broadcasters venues Profile players will win today Vast majority will lose big going forward

Couple of questions to be asked If agreed what will the compensation package be for the PGA Tour players (rumoured to be in the billions) How do you find an agreed way to bring back the LIV players who have had no world ranking points in the past year into limited field events?

Just back from a brilliant Horizon Irish Open at the K Club and now the focus turns to the Ryder Cup in Rome With so many unanswered questions re the PGA Tours deal with LIV Golf and compensation for the PGA Tour players the fireworks may well go off both on and off the course

Course @thekclub in mint condition for the players this week at the Horizon Irish Open Rory making his predictable Saturday charge with Lowry and the really impressive Mark Power who is making his maiden professional tournament not too far behind Loads to be very positive about

Congratulations Karl Bornemann on your selection to play in the Senior Mens Home International later this month A lot of injuries this year unfortunately but without doubt they were happy to wait for you Onwards and upwards 💪💪

Hard luck to Douglas Ladies Senior Foursomes team It was a stellar effort from everyone and hopefully the winning post is not too far away Well done to all involved 👏👏

Hopefully all the PGA Professionals including our own four home players, Head Pro David and his assistants Jack Craig and Colin enjoyed themselves during the PGA Open Series at Douglas this week Congratulations Colin on a tremendous second round of 66 today 👏👏

Any promotional push form our politicians for the #EuropeanSeniors being staged @DouglasGolfClub would be greatly appreciated @MichealMartinTD @simoncoveney @DeirdreCluneMEP @mmcgrathtd @EGA_golf @golf_ireland @RandA proudly supporting amateur golf at all levels
