A week later, I returned home from work and found my belongings scattered across the floor.
My landlord had entered my apartment while I was away, claiming he needed to inspect a leaking pipe.
Except there was no leaking pipe.
When I confronted him, he laughed.
“You’re a tenant. Don’t act like you own this place.”
I asked him why he hadn't called first.
He stepped closer and said, “Because I don't need your permission to enter my own property.”
That night, I barely slept.
I was tired of the disrespect, but I couldn't afford to move somewhere else immediately.
So I made a decision.
Instead of shouting at him or threatening him, I started documenting everything.
Every unexpected visit. Every threatening message. Every payment.
I even took pictures of the condition of the apartment.
My landlord had no idea what I was doing.
