Means a lot! Wana be an Olympic champ? Use plyos! Wana change the way a sport is done? Be like OG Fosbury, use plyos!
Plyometric training made me a champion. I teach it to young athletes. You already know you are on the right track. #FosburyFlop #Olympian

Come on, Chris. Why not include this study? pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/1710… Or this study? pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3374… Kubo studies don’t fully correct for ankle rotation or antagonist co-activation, which will bring stiffness down. Studies I cited correct for both and find sprinters have stiffer Achilles tendons. Tendons adapt to stress by increasing stiffness, not decreasing it to become more compliant.

If you read tendon research, you’ll come away thinking heavy, slow resistance is the way to train tendons. I argue general activity and sport/plyometrics are the real tendon training and heavy, slow resistance plays a lesser role.

The Plyomat 3.0 app is here. If you own a Plyomat, it's yours, free. Five years ago this started as a jump mat built in a garage. Today it's a full platform built around the hardware you already own: ▪️ The live display: jump height, contact time, RSI, DRI, and Power Score the moment they land ▪️ Live Reactive Strength Quadrant: every rep sorted Reactive, Compliant, Stiff, or Developing, in real time ▪️ Cloud HQ: every athlete and every session, synced across phone, desktop, and web ▪️ Dozens of reports that actually mean something No subscription. No paywall. No per seat. Just the measurement layer your floor has always deserved. Download it free at plyomat.pulse.ly/3wyh8g4vle Apple. Android. Web. Be Blessed and Happy Jumping. #plyomat #strengthandconditioning #sportsperformance #jumptraining #reactivestrength #athleticdevelopment #vertical #forceplate #performancetraining plyomat.pulse.ly/vi3brmnlwf

More like low jumping, but it’s a start! Fun one out in the sun, fairly pleased with the short sprints today. 5x 5+10yd flys and 3 x 10+10 yd flys @mcinneswatson

Coaches and trainers will be shocked with the price we will sell this resisted running device for with amazing data and already developed Mobile Ap. We have always tried to give more and more for less instead of keep adding "add on" pricing. WE. UNDERSTAND. COACHES.

Tendinopathy is more than just an overload injury. It behaves like a disease process via a cascade of mechanical, metabolic, vascular & neural changes -locking the tendon in a degenerative loop when it becomes chronic. Here is how I make sense of it with ref to the Achilles 🧬

Hi Johan, I've only skim read that article. Its on reading list. I like idea of a RSI metric integrating "dropping height" and factoring that in. Makes intuitive sense. @McInnesWatson has spoken about this. The "integral" RSI also tries to do this xitter.cf/EamonnFlanagan/status/…
What is “Integral Reactive Strength Index” (IRSI)? The IRSI is a recently emerging RSI variation used in drop jump assessments. It adjusts RSI to account for drop height used, possibly providing a more individualized & eccentric load-sensitive measure of reactive strength

The most common question I get is regarding plyometric programming for T&F jumpers. It is always a difficult question to answer as it has to take into account the entire program. Programming plyometrics require more precision than anything else.

Did you know every Plyomat purchase comes with full access to the Jump Mat Course? It’s the only course ever built specifically for switch-mat tech, created by Teofe Ziemnicki (former Director of Sports Science & Data Analytics at Yale) who is the current Head of Sport Science for TeamBuildr. The course breaks down how to use jump mats at every level: from basic testing to plyometric progressions and multi-step RSI work. Over 2.5 hours of teaching that actually helps you develop your athletes. If you’ve been wanting to understand jump testing, plyometric strategy, or how to make contact-time data part of your training system… it’s all included for free with your Plyomat. If you are wanting to purchase this course separately, click the link here: teambuildr.pulse.ly/rz70ldtj…

Reactive strength is measurable, programmable, and trainable when you know what to look for. In our latest blog, Matt breaks down how to use your 10/5 RSI test to guide exactly what kind of plyometric work your athletes need through the Plus Plyos Tier System 👇 📊 Step 1: Test it. Use RSI (flight time ÷ contact time) to see how reactive your athlete really is. 🏗️ Step 2: Program it. RSI below 2.0? Build control in the Deep Tier and Basic Reactivity w/Light Tier 2.0–2.75? Add rhythm/reactivity with the Light and Medium Tier. 2.75–3.5? Need to ramp up reactivity with Ping Tier Above 3.5? Earn the right to Maintain with all Tiers 🔁 Step 3: Progress it. Each tier layers on the next — control → rhythm → stiffness → max reactivity. Your RSI score tells you where to spend the most time and when to move forward. RSI is one of the most useful tools we have for measuring reactivity — but it doesn’t tell the whole story. That single number gives us a snapshot of how efficiently an athlete uses the stretch-shortening cycle, but not how they’re doing it. Two athletes can post the same RSI and move completely differently — one relying on stiffness and timing, the other on strength and force. The RSQ x Plus Plyos model bridges testing and training, turning numbers into movement. Because reactive strength isn’t about jumping higher — it’s about learning how to use the floor. Read the full breakdown on the blog (link in bio). #PlusPlyos #ReactiveStrength #Plyometrics #RSI #JumpTesting #Elasticity #StrengthAndConditioning #SportScience
