Patrick Stewart’s villainous turn in GREEN ROOM has stayed with me longer than I ever anticipated. His casual delivery of “I need a true believer” has echoed in my mind for a decade.

I fully support BIDs (I'm an alum of @DowntownBklyn) and I do agree that the Northside is probably overdue for one.
But the solution for every dirty street can't be a BID, at some point baseline city services have to catch up to reality.
BIDs are for *supplemental* services.
We need a business improvement district on the Northside of Williamsburg. A BID will help keep our streets clean, organize great community events, promote local businesses & more.
VOTE HERE: bit.ly/cleannorthside and attend one of our upcoming community meetings!

Look, I get it. Little scams to get a slightly better rate on car insurance, etc. aren't going to kill anybody. W-2 wage earners get screwed harder than anybody in our society, so there's a feeling of entitlement to these tricks. But you can't cry when the loophole gets closed.

Let's be honest here. A lot of the frenzy about the pied-a-terre tax list is not on behalf of helpless little old ladies.
It's coming from people who have been defrauding NYC by pretending not to be residents for income tax purposes.
Now those people have to choose. Income tax or pied-a-terre? Do you live here or not?

he tryna cancel his old soundcloud's Artist Pro subscription i'm calling it now
If it’s easy to sign up with one click, it should be just as easy to cancel with one click. That’s why New York City is becoming the first city in the nation to implement a Click-to-Cancel Rule.
Starting October 1, businesses will be required to make cancellations as easy as sign-ups. The rule is projected to save New Yorkers up to $162.5 million each year.
If you’re stuck in a subscription trap, report it at nyc.gov/Consumers.
