Of course the #cpdm can't cite a single achievement in Biya's and their 44-year reign but I can cite one, an atrocious high death rate which no government should ever be proud of. #EndAnglophoneCrisis and and lives.
The secretary general of Cameroon's ruling party, Jean Nkeuti, delivered a long speech during celebrations marking Paul Biya's 44 years in power but couldn't cite a single achievement. As they drank Champagne and wine at the CPDM secretariat near the Yaoundé Municipal Lake, Jean Nkeuti main concerned was that they have maintained occupation of the Presidential Palace. However, he said they needed to brace themselves for the upcoming municipal and parliamentary elections. The CPDM suffered a severe blow in last year's presidential election. #MMINews

I join him in his indifference. Honestly, what is there to celebrate? 44 years as president and how many again as vice? Yet, all people know is pain and suffering. Who celebrates the death of parents, children, and the elderly for no just cause under his watch? #WeAreExhausted
While CPDM comrades are eating bread and sardines across the national territory, President Paul Biya has remained indifferent to the ongoing celebration marking his 44 years in power. He has not issued any statements, and nothing has come out of his palace, to celebrate with comrades. Is he unhappy with his own record? Is he aware that he has been president for 44 years? Nobody knows. For decades, Biya has remained indifferent to his party’s anniversary, the anniversary of his time in power, and even his birthday. #MMINews

Projecting the idea of strength by terror and inflicting pain does not translate as good governance. Stop the war in #SouthernCameroons. The number of innocent lives lost should incensed people of good will. #EndAnglophoneCrisis

Who will hold the Cameroon government to account for the gross violations in #SouthernCameroons courtesy of that fool-hearted war policy? The death rate in the war torn regions is abominable and unacceptable. End that war and save lives. #EndAnglophoneCrisis

Agreed, Cameroon knows how to invest in its own. #smh
Chinese company China First Highway Engineering Company (CFHEC) has been selected to build the future headquarters of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsanté), in a contract reportedly worth CFAF 25.5 billion. The building will house the ministry’s central departments. Specialising in road construction, CFHEC already has a strong presence in Cameroon. It is building the first 60-kilometre section of the Yaoundé-Douala motorway and has secured several road contracts this year, including the first section of the Edéa-Kribi road project, worth CFAF 43.8 billion and awarded on August 6. According to media reports, the company has also been awarded the contract to build the headquarters of the Directorate General of Taxation, valued at CFAF 20.2 billion. This latest contract reflects the growing presence of Chinese companies in Cameroon’s infrastructure projects. In the Grand North, they hold ten of the 16 road construction contracts identified, representing approximately CFAF 306 billion out of CFAF 465 billion in works. #MMINews

The war in #SouthernCameroons is wrong, hurtful, and awry. The partners of cruelty have caused unmeasurable pain and grief yet are so tone-deaf and clueless to the consequences of that ill-thought policy #EndTheWar and save lives #EndAnglophoneCrisis

A curse that has left many of us Fatherless, others orphaned, and millions displaced. With the pain caused, nothing to celebrate here. Under his leadership the nation continues to regress. His saving grace is to #EndAnglophoneCrisis. We shan't forget the lives lost in his care.
Today, November 4, 2026, marks 44 years since Cameroon's first president, Ahmadou Ahidjo, resigned and handed power to Paul Biya, his Prime Minister and constitutional heir, whom he had carefully positioned to succeed him by amending the consiconstitution. The resignation message, broadcast on national radio, took listeners by storm. Ahidjo had ruled the country with an iron fist since independence in 1960 and was least expected to suddenly surrender power. The resignation was followed two days later by the swearing-in of Paul Biya on November 6, 1982, as the country's second head of state. Biya was 49 years old and a trusted ally of Ahidjo. Ahidjo gave no specific reasons for his resignation but urged Cameroonians and external allies to trust his successor to lead the nation. But trust between the two men would be short-lived. Cracks in the relationship began the following year. Ahidjo, who had retained the headship of the lone political party at the time, the CNU, resigned from the position in 1983 following disagreements. On April 6, 1984, the Biya government foiled an attempted coup in which Ahidjo's supporters were accused of plotting to overthrow the young president. Ahidjo himself was sentenced to death in absentia after going into self-imposed exile in Dakar, Senegal. Read more: buff.ly/PHPuT94 #MMINews

The Fon chaired a royal community dialogue in Douala aimed at ending insecurity in Bui Division? Why not chair the dialogue in Bui Division where the conflict is taking place? Is the conflict in his division killing his subjects in Douala?
The Nso Palace in Cameroon's Northwest Region is demanding the unconditional release of abducted notables. According to information from the palace, the notables, whose exact number and whereabouts have not been determined, were abducted because they had paid a visit to Fon Sehm Mbinglo I following his return to the palace in the middle of last month. The abduction of the Nso notables comes just under two weeks after the Fon chaired a royal community dialogue in Douala aimed at ending insecurity in Bui Division. #MMINews

You will walk those grounds someday. Their failures and unfairness has brought your situation to the forefront and confirmed the most vile accusations against Cameroon and its Justice system. #FreeTsiConrad #JournalismIsNotACrime
Growing up, I always wondered what it'll feel like to walk the very grounds where Martin Luther King proclaimed his dream of freedom. Y'day, my picture in display at the Lincoln memorial is a victory step towards my very own freedom. I'll walk those grounds as a free man one day

A peaceful protest demanding equity and respect for human rights in #SouthernCameroons morphed into a retaliation that has killed tens of thousands and displaced millions without care or intervention from the @UN and the @_AfricanUnion, organs that are supposed to promote peace.

By 2018, Biya had spent the equivalent of four and a half years abroad at an estimated cost of $65 million. A single day’s stay at his preferred Geneva hotel, with his official entourage, costs approximately $40,000. globalechos.com/paul-biya-th… via @Global Echos

Today is the International Day of Political Prisoners. Peaceful expression and human rights advocacy are not crimes. Those imprisoned for exercising these rights must be released immediately and without conditions.
