Epic Games released an official plugin that lets Claude Code control Unreal Engine directly. It connects Claude Code to the Unreal Editor and exposes hundreds of editor tools across 30+ toolsets: → Actors, Blueprints and materials → Niagara effects, Control Rigs and Sequencer → State Trees, widgets and the Gameplay Ability System → Automation testing Install it from Anthropic's official plugin marketplace: /plugin install unreal-engine-skills-for-claude-code@claude-plugins-official In Unreal, enable the ModelContextProtocol and AllToolsets plugins, then start the MCP server with the editor open. Works on Mac, Linux, and Windows through Git Bash or WSL. github.com/EpicGames/unreal-…

Today we're standing up XBOX LABS (labs.xbox.com). Here is the note that I sent to the team: Team, The first video games emerged some 75 years ago. In the time since, there have been booms and busts, but every year there are more great games to play, more devices to play them, and best of all, more people than ever playing. That growth helped make XBOX what it is today, and we've helped shape the industry in return, from bringing hard drives to consoles and online gaming through Xbox Live to Game Pass and cloud gaming, alongside franchises that have brought millions of people together. In recent weeks, we've seen games rapidly decompiled and rebuilt to run on hardware they were never originally designed to support. Windows PC builds have been translated to run on Apple Silicon or ported to run inside a browser through WebAssembly and WebGPU, the latter now approaching 90% global browser support. Perhaps more surprisingly, we've seen many of the biggest games in the world have been remixed into the source code of another. These experiments challenge long-held assumptions about our industry: the tether between software and hardware, the boundary between creation and play, and how people discover and experience games. While it is hard to predict the future of gaming, it is easy to see the possibilities in making great games easier to access, giving old games new life and allowing more players to become creators and co-creators. These are unmistakably good outcomes for players, even when (and sometimes because) they challenge our existing business models. To explore these possibilities, I’ve asked Scott to stand-up XBOX LABS, a small group of game makers, engineers and scientists whose job is to turn emerging ideas into things our players and developers can experience. We'll build in the open, learn from what people do, and measure success by whether more people are playing and creating. I think XBOX has an important role to play here. Coding became the first major workload for agents because they can write, run, and test software. Games share many of those same properties, and people spend more than 72 billion hours a year playing XBOX games, roughly five times the estimated time spent writing code worldwide. We've spent 25 years learning how to make great games, and I want our game makers to help shape what these new technologies make possible. As we learn, we’ll share the tools we build with developers across the industry, just as we always have. Our priorities aren't changing. We remain committed to the 4Cs, to making great games, to our hardware and to being responsible stewards of IP and the communities built around it. LABS gives us a way to explore new technology that is game design led without abandoning the work already underway. Asha

Epic Games has internally delayed the release of a shooter game they’ve been developing featuring Star Wars & Marvel characters. • Developers on the game have now been told to only use AI to write the code — “No more hand-written code” • All art for the game would be “generated with full AI workflows” (Source: bloomberg.com/news/articles/…)

We have a huge pivot underway here at Epic, moving developers around to retool for maximum AI acceleration. The aim isn't to do the same stuff with fewer people, but to enable everyone here to build MORE and BETTER stuff, and to bring the benefits to all teams using Unreal.

We identified a security incident involving unauthorized use of internal Fireworks credentials. We contained the incident, revoked the credentials, and notified all identified affected customers directly. Our investigation is ongoing. We are working with a cybersecurity firm actively. At this time, we have not detected impact or access to customer data or inference traffic. We take this seriously and will be transparent about what happened and what we find. I will keep you updated as we verify and roll out changes. Here is our security bulletin for this incident: fireworks.ai/security/bullet… I’m personally committed to turn this attack into the most formidable security response in AI Infra.

Presenting: "Small, But Not Zero" An opera explaining the integer multiplication math journey up to this point.
Validated and merged Rohan's PR. Big gain on a really difficult regime (that frankly I was stuck at). Incredible work. κ = 2⁻¹⁵ (tightened from κ = 2⁻¹⁸²) A 500 thousand fold improvement over the previous result and a 2 ^ 167 fold improvement over the original OpenAI result. This result was a true community effort that combined techniques from a number of contributors. I want to take time to highlight each of them, but for now getting these results verified and published as fast as possible so everyone working on the problem is at the leading edge.

We're publishing a result demonstrating a substantial tightening to the results from OpenAI Problem #109 (integer multiplication). Conditional on OpenAI's algorithmic interfaces, our parameter and network refinements improve the exponent saving in: T(n)=O(n(\log n)^{1-\kappa}) from κ=2⁻¹⁸² to κ=5.8×10⁻³³ (between 2⁻¹⁰⁸ and 2⁻¹⁰⁷). This represents a nearly 2⁷⁵ fold increase in the algorithm's exponent saving parameter. We also establish a ceiling of κ<5.838×10⁻³³ for the stated network-counting family and cost inequalities. Our result exceeds 99% of that ceiling. Surpassing this ceiling would require improving the network bounds or cost analysis from the original result.

3/ Integer multiplication is probably the most shocking result. Similar to matrix multiplication it’s a “asymptotic reduction”. Also like the matrix result, it’s not practical. But very few people would have predicted the previous barrier could be broken. Even slightly

Lots of discussion out there about our next model(!), so I wanted to give an early look as soon as possible. Introducing Gemini 4 Argon! It shows frontier performance in complex workflows, cyber defense and software engineering. Teams are using it extensively at Google, from coding to quantum computing, great feedback.
