Today, we remember a day that changed America forever. We honor every life lost and thank the brave men and women who ran toward danger to save countless others. We are one nation and one America. May God bless the families forever changed by September 11.
Keep talking out the side of your neck we’re just different in Baton Rouge. They hate us ’cause they ain’t us, and they still can’t touch us! 💜💛🐯 #Haters #JustDifferent @Lane_Kiffin

Two teams. Two victories. One city.
THIS IS BATON ROUGE! 🏆
Our 100-Day Transformation Initiative conducted between May and August, delivered results that included tons of debris removed, illegal dumping cited, street lights repaired and brightened, drainage improved, grass mown, and trees trimmed.
Mayor-President Sid Edwards and law enforcement officials announce that the remains of Jaderrius Minnieweather have been recovered at the landfill.
You asked. We listened. Beginning at the end of September, crews will overlay Lee Drive between Perkins and Highland to provide a smoother ride. The larger MOVEBR project is still coming. As it moves toward construction, we’re improving the road people drive on today.
I’m tackling illegal dumping head-on. We’re installing cameras to catch illegal dumpers. If you dump it, we’re going to find you and you’re going to pay the fine. We’re cleaning up Baton Rouge.
Consider this your warning: FAFO.
Report illegal dumping to 311
A stronger, more reliable power grid is on the way. Entergy is investing $400 million to upgrade 730 miles of power lines and replace 23,000 utility poles with stronger steel poles designed to withstand winds up to 140 mph.
Riding through the city today, I couldn’t help but reflect. Baton Rouge has been my home for 66 years & every day I’m reminded what makes this city special its people. Together, we’ve grown, overcome challenges & celebrated victories. I’m blessed to serve the city that raised me.
Join me tomorrow morning as I share updates on what’s happening across the Parish. We’ll talk about the work we’re doing, the progress we’re making, and what’s ahead for our community.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Senator Larry Selders with a Day of Mourning across East Baton Rouge Parish. He was more than a public servant he was a man of the people. May we continue the work he started.
In honor of the life and legacy of State Senator Larry Selders, I have declared Friday, July 10, an official Day of Mourning. All flags in East Baton Rouge Parish will be lowered to half-staff throughout the weekend as we honor his service and legacy.
Saddened by the loss of Senator Larry Selders. He was truly a man of the people and a tremendous advocate for Baton Rouge. He was always willing to help me move Baton Rouge forward. My prayers are with his family, friends, colleagues, and constituents. May he rest in peace.
Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
Today, we celebrate 250 years of America’s Independence. I’m thankful for this country, thankful to serve the people of Baton Rouge. God bless Baton Rouge, God bless Louisiana, and God bless the United States of America.
