This is a deeply nihilistic sentiment. Worthy of condemnation.

We don’t give a fuck. They can’t try to make this owners versus players like last time.
It’s players versus fans. We don’t give a fuck about the money. We just want competitive balance.

If Democrats pack the Supreme Court to make it a 7-6 liberal majority, Republicans will pack it to make it 8-7 conservative as soon as they retake power, and the cycle will continue forever.
That’s why the Court needs to remain at 9 justices.

Why is the baseball media pushing so hard to kill the salary cap talk?
Yes, 3 small market teams are in the final 4, but all of the home grown stars on those teams will be playing for LAD, NYY, or NYM in 5 years without one. This year is an anomaly, Not even close to the norm

I love how Dodgers people are now trying to spin the Dodgers losing into proof that they’re not bad for baseball because they know literally nothing about baseball.

We went through a 30-year political process of realizing the folly of allowing manufacturing in America to be outsourced...
...and then as soon as the next manufacturing boom began in data centers, a bunch of people want to outsource it again

I should be doing show prep —reading news, calling folks, confirming interviews, outlining interviews— but it’s been a decade since Guardians/Indians won the opener in an #ALCS. So I am just luxuriating in Cleveland baseball until showtime.

In September, I discovered a disturbing sentence inserted into @AbdulElSayed’s statement on the Temple Israel attack (see image). I alerted his campaign, and it was quickly removed.
I don’t believe Abdul wrote it or agrees with it. But having worked on dozens of campaigns, I know how tightly website access is controlled.
I asked who was responsible, whether it was investigated, and if disciplinary action was taken. No response.
And another question: Abdul has repeatedly walked back his “hurt people hurt people” remarks - why are they still on his campaign website?
Was he apologizing for the timing—or the substance? If the substance, why leave the statement up?
These questions deserve answers.

This is like George H.W. Bush cutting an ad for Sharron Angle in 2010. The country over party mantra has long since vanished.

Many people responded to Anthropic's announcement by saying ~"it's OK to force people to be more polite"
If I thought that was Anthropic's concern, it might be fine.
But Anthropic is clearly engaged in a long-term project to convince you that Claude might be conscious.

When he says Dems “want the Court to be better,” what he means is that the Court rules the way they want it to.

I'm glad a reporter asked her about this. It seems obvious that Letitia James has already prejudged this case and should not serve as special prosecutor... and also that Kathy Hochul doesn't know what she's talking about...
We should be very concerned about diminishing prospects for basic fairness here...
Reporter: "Attorney General, on your Facebook page three days ago, you wrote, ‘What this young woman has been forced to endure is horrific and unacceptable. I'm holding her in my heart and in my prayers. To her and to all survivors, you're not alone. We stand with you.’ Why did you affirm her allegations as fact without doing your own fact-finding investigation? And to the governor, why did you appoint an official who made a public statement affirming those allegations as fact as someone who's supposed to be doing an investigation?”
New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D): “I will answer that. I have every confidence in our Attorney General to do what she has always done. Look at the facts, examine the record, and draw the proper conclusions. That's exactly what's going to happen in this case. Attorney General, please.”
New York Attorney General Letitia James: “I will not comment on a Facebook post.”
Great question!
