I’m running for re-election as Mayor so I can keep fighting to put League City taxpayers first. During my time on City Council, we’ve cut the tax rate every year and increased the homestead exemption for seniors to the highest in Texas. We’ve also made public safety a top priority by fully funding law enforcement and giving our police, fire, and EMS first responders the resources they need to keep our families safe. Lower taxes. Efficient government. Supporting first responders.

Today is the first day of early voting! You can cast your ballot now through October 30, with Election Day on November 3. On League City Council, I have led the fight to lower taxes, helping reduce the property tax rate by more than 40% while continuing to invest in public safety, drainage, and transportation infrastructure. League City is my hometown, and I will keep fighting to make it a place where families can afford to live, businesses can thrive, and our community can continue to grow responsibly. I’m asking for your vote so we can keep League City moving in the right direction!

I have fought to keep League City affordable by making sure our city government lives within its means and puts taxpayers first. During my time on City Council, we have cut the property tax rate by 40%, increased the homestead exemption for seniors and disabled veterans, made new development pay its own way, and worked to make city government more efficient and responsive. League City is my hometown, and I want to make sure the families who built their lives here can afford to stay here. I will continue fighting for lower taxes, responsible growth, and a city government that works for the people it serves.

League City is growing, and we have a responsibility to make sure that growth is managed responsibly without putting the burden on existing taxpayers. On City Council, I have led efforts to make growth pay for itself by increasing impact fees, reviewing and adjusting permit fees, and holding developers accountable to League City’s standards. Our residents should not be left footing the bill for the costs of new development. We must also invest in the infrastructure our growing community needs. That means advancing regional drainage projects and working with local, state, and federal partners to bring funding to League City for critical drainage and transportation improvements. Growth should be an opportunity, not a burden on taxpayers. I will continue fighting for responsible development, stronger infrastructure, and a future that works for the people who call League City home.

Keeping League City safe has always been one of my top priorities on City Council. During my time in office, we have made significant investments in public safety, including increasing the number of first responders by nearly 30%. Those investments matter. League City was ranked the second-best place to live in Texas by U.S. News & World Report, and maintaining the quality of life our residents enjoy requires continued commitment to the people who protect our community. I am proud to stand behind our police officers, firefighters, and all our first responders who serve and protect League City every day. We must continue giving them the resources they need to do their jobs and keep our community safe.

Since I joined the League City Council in 2014, we have put taxpayers first while keeping League City one of the best places to live, work, and raise a family. We’ve cut the property tax rate by more than 40%, adopted rates below the No-New-Revenue Rate, and delivered the highest homestead exemption in Texas for seniors and disabled veterans. We’ve also increased first responders by 30% and invested more than $200 million in roads, drainage, and water infrastructure, without shifting the burden of growth onto existing taxpayers. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, but there is more work to do. With your support, I’ll keep putting taxpayers first and moving League City forward.

I am pleased to share that our Senior Homestead Tax Exemption is the highest in the State of Texas at $200,000. Over the past 12 years, the League City Council has worked consistently to increase this exemption, reflecting our ongoing commitment to making it more affordable for seniors to remain in their own homes. We are proud to be recognized by the Governor for having the highest rate in Texas and the progress it represents for our community.

Thanks to a partnership with the county, we were able to extend our Senior Meal Programs at Hometown Hero's Park through January 1st. This gives us more time to serve our community while we work on a long-term solution. We want to ensure this program continues into the next fiscal year, as it provides a welcoming space for seniors to gather, share meals, and take fitness classes under one roof.

This year's budget gave Helen Hall Library a well-deserved boost. More funding means smoother checkouts and even more programs and events for everyone to enjoy—which have become very popular! Once Hallisey Park is complete, we'll begin construction on a combined community center, Westside library, and park. This will add more rooms and spaces for community and non-profit events, as well as a children's section for the library. We're looking forward to our upcoming projects. Stay tuned, we'll share more details soon!

We're keeping our city full of color as we continue League City's Public Art Initiative across all neighborhoods—beautifying blank walls, adding mini murals on electrical boxes around town, and creating sculptures that highlight our city's history. The Public Art Initiative began during my first term as mayor, and if re-elected, I can say with confidence that we will keep it going. We will continue celebrating our local artists and their work while creating unique scenes throughout League City.

The Crossings in League City hosted a great candidate forum last night, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with residents and hear what matters most to them. I’m proud of the work we’ve done, and I’m focused on keeping League City safe, improving our roads and drainage, and continuing to lower the property tax rate. Most importantly, I believe in listening to our residents and working together to keep moving our community forward. Thank you to everyone who came out, asked questions, and took the time to be part of the conversation. I truly appreciate it and look forward to being back at The Crossings again soon!

During my time on City Council, League City has been committed to making serious investments in drainage and flood mitigation. At the local level, we have committed major resources to moving bond projects forward and investing $55 million in capital improvements to strengthen our drainage infrastructure. At the regional level, I have been leading a coalition of nearly every entity along Lower Clear Creek to advance a project that will have a massive impact on flood protection for our region. I traveled to Washington, D.C., with Galveston County, Texas, to secure federal funding for a study to get the effort moving, while also working to gain the support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We are working at every level—locally, regionally, and federally—to make meaningful improvements to our drainage infrastructure. We are making real progress, but the work is far from finished. We will continue securing funding, building partnerships, and pushing forward the large-scale projects that League City needs to better protect our homes, businesses, and community.

We had a great time at the Lions Club Ribbon Cutting celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Village Fair! It was an honor to present a Proclamation recognizing this incredible milestone and the positive impact this amazing community event has had on League City over the years. We even got to take a quick train ride! Kari and I grew up going to the Village Fair and have great memories of various concerts, fun, and playing in the Pony League Tournament that would go on the same weekend. Head over to The Ballpark at League City this weekend and enjoy the Lions Club Village Fair. With great music, food, and plenty of family fun, you’re not going to want to miss it!

We recently worked to find a solution to keep the senior meals program at Hometown Heroes Park going after a grant that helped fund the program was cut. Our team at the City worked closely with Galveston County to ensure there is no interruption in service while we work to identify a long-term funding source. During my time on Council, I have worked hard to make sure our seniors are a priority and that League City is proactive in creating opportunities for them to enjoy the community they helped build. I’m proud that League City has the highest senior homestead exemption in the State of Texas, helping senior homeowners keep more of their hard-earned money by reducing their property tax burden. They’ve earned it. We’re also continuing to expand and improve our parks system and amenities throughout League City, creating more opportunities for our seniors to stay active, enjoy the outdoors, and spend their retirement right here in the community they love. Our seniors have given so much to League City. They deserve a community that gives back.

It’s truly an honor to have the support of the Republican Party of Texas, along with the Galveston County and Harris County Republican Parties, the Gulf Coast Young Republicans, and the Republican Mayors Association. I’m grateful for the confidence and support of Republicans across our community and across Texas. I look forward to continuing to work hard and earn the support of voters throughout this campaign. Thank you for all the support!

League City is an amazing place to raise a family, build a career, and enjoy life. During my time on City Council, I’ve always worked to protect the small-town, community-oriented charm that makes League City such a special place to call home. Our parks system continues to grow, with more recreation amenities on the way. We’re also managing growth responsibly and making important investments in public works, roads, and drainage infrastructure to keep our community moving forward. I’m proud to call League City my hometown, and I know our community’s future is incredibly bright.

Last week, the City learned that the grant funding for the senior meals program at Hometown Heroes Park would not be renewed. This left us with very little time to find an alternative source of funding to keep this important program going. I’m pleased to share that we have identified funding for FY2027 and are working with Galveston County to ensure the service continues. There will be no interruption in services. Over the coming year, we will also work to establish a permanent funding source so this vital program can continue into the future. I’m thankful for the hard work of our staff and grateful for the partnership with Galveston County in making sure this important service remains available to our League City seniors.

We recently adopted the League City FY2027 budget, delivering the 12th straight tax cut below the No-New-Revenue Rate. Since I joined City Council, we’ve reduced the tax rate by 40.2%. At the same time, we’re making significant investments in public safety, parks, public works, drainage, transportation, and our city’s future. This budget reflects what I believe in: fiscal responsibility, strong city services, and putting taxpayers first. Always.

Met with the citizens in the Oaks of Clear Creek to explain the new detention pond and walking trail project. The pond will deliver crucial detention to a subdivision that was hit hard during Harvey. The walking trail will add an amenity to the subdivision, tie Oaks of Clear Creek to the library/pool and give our Police Officers an area to walk on their breaks. Construction is already underway!
