The Civic Flag is flying at half-mast today in honour of Roy Lowe, Mayor of Chester 1981/82. Our thoughts are with Roy's family and friends as we remember his dedicated service to the city and pay our respects to a former Mayor of Chester.

Delighted to support this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, #ReadToTheBeat – a great way to discover new stories and celebrate reading. My favourites: Wuthering Heights and The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. What are you reading this summer? 📚 #ChesterReads #SummerReads

Today is National Joy of Movement Day. A terrific excuse to get out of the house and get active. From a quick walk to the shops, to a nice wander through the countryside, or even a potter round the garden. #Chester #Walking #GetActive #JoyofMovement
