NEW: Amy Acton releases a rapid-response ad hitting back at Vivek Ramaswamy’s vile attack ad featuring her estranged mother.
The new ad features Acton’s brother recounting the horrific childhood sexual and physical abuse she endured while protecting him.

Reporter: You're offering 10% to whistleblowers—
Trump: 1%
Reporter: Okay, that's actually worse. According to the False Claims Act, which has been on the books since 1863, whistleblowers can get between 10% and 25%.

.@amyactonoh on Vivek Ramaswamy's abhorrent campaign ad:
"I won't normalize somebody who has said that my childhood is 'something I'm just complaining about,' who today, just released an ad using my birth mother, who I was removed from at the age of 12 for severe abuse and neglect and sexual abuse... The words our leaders use matter and I think it's gonna take courage right now from all of us to stop normalizing this sort of rhetoric."

Jared Kushner cannot legally participate in meetings as Trump's envoy unless and until he is confirmed by the Senate and files financial disclosures. We sued to enforce the law last week.
So, no, he can't join this meeting with Zelensky today. ft.com/content/581d8a59-b128…

Trump is the individual who used this anti-semitic slur. That fact is notably absent from this post.
The term “Shylock” is rooted in a longstanding antisemitic stereotype. Regardless of intent, its use can reinforce harmful tropes about Jews and normalize language that has long been used to target the Jewish community.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The term was used (for at least the second intent in as many years) by President Trump.

Important context to point out the user of the term regardless of intent.

We suspected this was the reason Ukraine’s access to Starshield was restricted. But to see it from senior officials in this reporting is still utterly unconscionable.
Let’s be absolutely clear about what this means. The Trump Administration deliberately restricted technology Ukraine relies on to intercept Russian drones and ballistic missiles. It made it harder for Ukraine to defend itself and easier for Russia to carry out its deadly attacks against Ukrainian civilians.
They knew exactly what was at stake. They knew that more Russian drones and missiles would get through, allowing Russia to kill even more Ukrainians. And yet they went ahead anyway.
This is a deliberate weaking of Ukraine’s defenses that only Russia will benefit from. It is a betrayal of our ally that this Administration cannot wash its hands of.
The American people deserve to know who made this decision, why they made it, and how they can possibly justify putting more innocent Ukrainian lives in the crosshairs of Putin’s war machine.

Hearing is over. Like Reyes said, sworn testimony of Wischer / Bowron / Griese was not available via the public line. TLDR of their testimony was that Saturday’s cuttings were in line with the CLR. Not the Washington National Plan.
Government lawyers had a couple of new arguments. Most prominent was the idea that a major overhaul of East Potomac Park would not constitute a final agency action and thus not be challengeable under the APA. Reyes exhibited skepticism of this argument and the general idea that a plan was not established.
She specifically referenced Trump’s most recent social media posts and pressed DoJ attorneys to clarify if these were reflective of the situation. They said no and that no plan was decided and the course was not closing on November 15.
Some procedural / standing issues questions for the plaintiffs that we will not opine on because we don’t know enough.
Outcomes of the meeting: Reyes likely not going to issue preliminary injunction. She is likely going to force Gov to notify plaintiffs if any work is going to happen / if the course is going to close. Given recent hectic nature, she is likely going to ask for >10 days notice.
Reyes also said she is going to look into asking Burgum a formal question on if there is a developed plan.
Hearing ended on a bit of a somber note as Reyes said her mother / brother had contacted her out of concern of reports she is receiving death threats. Over a golf course.

Unearthed records show that Vivek Ramaswamy listed an Ohio residence to register as an Ohio voter and a New York residence to register as an attorney in New York.
Ramaswamy may be committing class 5 felony voter fraud if he is voting in a district where he does not live.

A Savannah police officer gave her Flock login to her husband.
Her husband is an ICE agent.
He ran 983 license plate searches.
Across six states.
788 were in South Carolina.
Mostly looking for cars registered to Hispanic owners.
An investigator asked her: "Did you run these searches?"
She said no.
Then admitted it was her husband.
Her husband said: "Every name that I ever ran was an ICE target."
Translation: I was using the police department's surveillance system to hunt people.
She got fired. Along with five other Savannah PD employees.
All for Flock misuse.
ICE is investigating its own agent.
Which means nothing will happen to him.
Georgia law apparently lets Savannah police share plate data with ICE.
But Savannah never agreed to that.
So she just decided it was fine.
Gave him the password.
He turned it into a deportation tool.
Now there's a paper trail showing Flock was used to target Hispanic drivers across state lines.
Using a police officer's credentials.
With her knowledge.
The surveillance network designed to catch criminals became a hunting tool for immigration enforcement.
One password away from working.

BREAKING
The BBC subpoenaed Jack Smith for a deposition to defend itself against Trump's defamation lawsuit.
Smith didn't object to the subpoena.
Team Trump opposes. buff.ly/cf6GaG2

ALT No one forced Plaintiff to file this lawsuit and to dispute that his speech on January 6 incited the violence that followed at the Capitol. But as long as he chooses to maintain the case, he cannot commit the fundamental injustice of preventing the BBC from obtaining the evidence it needs to robustly defend itself on every element of his claim, including Plaintiff’s burden to prove falsity.

Doss: "The Strait of Hormuz wasn't closed before this war."
Jennings: "It's not closed now."
Phillip: "I want you to actually answer this question, because this is just evidence of a general disregard for reality. If you claim the Strait of Hormuz is open, why are only 10 oil tankers passing through it right now?"
Jennings: "We don't need all that volume right now. Ultimately, it doesn't matter, because we've found a way to move oil out of the region."
Phillip: "Then why haven't gas prices come down?"
