I just released an update to @TravelQsensor that adds customs wait time tracking for +30 airports in the US. We now essentially cover every notable airport.

Ever notice sometimes your flight doesn't move from its stand a long time after boarding is complete? This is often caused by airport delays, like ATC capacity. You can track those delays now via @TravelQsensor, both in Europe and the US/Canada.

It was one hell of a summer for @TravelQsensor. From having over 180k users across the season to being featured on the front page of the @FT. Working on a new project that I hope to be sharing very soon!

Whether or not @OpenAI used Buckmaster's or Alpöge's chat logs to aid in their work on Navier-Strokes is irrelevant now, the damage is done. If you're using these tools to do novel things, you'll likely think twice now.

Epic developed a new business model, Fortnite Creative, which puts the responsibility for content creation in the hands of creators in exchange for remuneration. By doing so, the devs put themselves out of a job. Respect to them for being pioneers, but damn the outcome is brutal.

Formula 1 is in danger of becoming boring again.

Esports' fundamental flaw is that someone owns the games. This gives game IP owners control over the limits within which all esports entities operate, which in turn inhibits innovation and the development of new products and services.

This is the core issue at the heart of the esports winter and needs to be solved for esports to progress.

There is no question that the post-COVID world and poor macroeconomics have laid bare the challenges that esports face. Macroeconomics are unlikely to save us in the near future, as the WEF predicts a flatlining global economy in 2024.

Maybe the NBA isn't the best incubator of basketball players.

This is like my "esports - what went wrong" series but on steriods. Very much worth settting aside a couple of hours to read through it.
This has been a tough year for esports. Fans and industry insiders alike are wondering what is happening, how bad this is going to get, and even whether esports as we know it will survive. @avibhuiyan and I teamed up to try to answer those questions: esportsessays.com

For a cutting edge industry we sure are opposed to new ideas and business models. Welp, I guess let's keep watching the free tournaments on Twitch and hope for the best.

My favourite type of person is one that proclaims to be for fact and reason but then holds a grudge when you tell the truth about something that is inconvenient to them.

This chapter of esports should be called 'The Emperor's New Clothes'.

All TOs will be feeling a certain amount of sympathy for @lhfaria & co. These situations are extremely hard to navigate, when your leagues founding principles are challenged. In the current financial landscape, we all need to be better prepared for when teams go under.

Imagine if Apple and Google were the only ones allowed to build and publish apps for iOS and Android. Because that is what esports is like for non-publishers.

And conversely, imagine Apple and Google without the developer ecosystems around the App and Play stores.

"the bar" Adam is referring to is represents a silent war that has been raging behind the scenes between tournament organisers. How can we create the flashiest event and one-up the competition?
Been doing this a long time The @ValorantEsports stage and production was the best I’ve seen, and I don’t think it’s close I could say “I’d love to have that budget”, but just because you have the recipe doesn’t mean you can cook the meal. Well done, that is the bar now.

Furthermore, no one really cares if you have a 1.5mm instead of a 3mm LED wall. They are there to follow their favourite team and watch the game played at the highest level.

I will take a well run, simple and solid event that makes sense financially, any day of the week.
