Almost nobody realizes that just about every liberal feel-good nostrum has been tested by liberal social scientists over the last 60 years, with practically none of them turning out true. That was already fairly well established when I started reading social science in 1972.

The worship of govt monopolized education is its most perversely fascinating "victory"– the typical citizen views forcing children into a corrupt, govt controlled system as a magical defense of "individual rights", rather than a critical feature of fascism.

The perfect demo of the "liberal progressive"– they exude hatred, while pretending to be noble & "kind" ("MAKA"). In their deranged minds this is NOT hypocrisy, because when THEY are prevented from forcing others to obey, it magically becomes "violence" against them. 🤡🌎

Govt should not control education for the same reason that it should not control the press– that so few see this contradiction is itself a kind of "victory" of govt education, in that it is run for the benefit of govt– not to create freedom loving, independent minded citizens.

Abundance usually gets explained as a list of problems: zoning, permits, licensing, slow approvals. Here’s what we'd actually get if we fixed them: Lunch costs $4, like it does in Japan and Singapore. Most US cities require three or four separate sinks, which makes a kitchen under 200 square feet nearly impossible. Anyone can open an owl cafe or a vegan lesbian bookstore. Japan is full of tiny, oddly specific businesses run by one or two people. They survive because small spaces are cheap and enough people live close enough to walk in. A room in a big city for $400 a month. These buildings housed millions of low-income and older Americans until cities banned most of them by the 1980s. A three-bedroom apartment you can stay in after you have a kid. US codes require two staircases in buildings over three stories, so family-sized units only fit on the corners. Most of the world allows one staircase. A new electric car for about $10,000. China sells these globally. Americans can't buy it. A government so dependable it's boring. When a loved one dies, you report it once instead of to every agency. We can decide to make it happen here. The full list has 16 things, from taco trucks on every corner to no more pandemics. I wrote this to also announce that today is DC Abundance's official launch! If you’re in DC, come celebrate and see the G.O.A.T. Derek Thompson speak!

“Ask yourself a simple question. Why is almost every celebrity on the same side? “Actors, singers, late-night hosts, award-show presenters. Thousands of people with different backgrounds, different lives, different temperaments. And somehow, on every major issue, they land on the exact same opinion, at the exact same moment, with the exact same hashtags. Free minds don't behave like that. An ecosystem does. “Now ask a second question. Elon Musk is landing rockets on their own tails. He's bringing internet to villages that never had a phone line. He's building cars that drive themselves and implants that let paralyzed people move a cursor with their thoughts. Artists are supposed to be the ones who dream about the future. Here is a man actually building it. How many of them stand next to him? A handful. Why? “Because Hollywood is not a free market of talent. It's a royal court. “A young actor doesn't make it because he's good. Hundreds are good. He makes it because someone lets him in: an agent, a casting director, a producer, a studio, an awards committee. Every step is a gate, and every gate has a keeper. When your whole career depends on a few rooms, you learn very quickly what can be said in those rooms and what can't. “This is how it works. First you stay silent. Then you nod. Then you repeat. Then you believe. Compromise never arrives all at once. It arrives one dinner, one role, one red carpet at a time. And once you've given up enough, you need the system to stay in place, because the system is the only thing that makes the sacrifice worth it. “Want to see the whole mechanism in a single story? For decades, one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood was the subject of accusations from dozens of women, and much of the industry treated it as an open secret. A host even joked about it at an Oscar nominations announcement, and the room laughed. Speaking up seriously meant losing everything. When the truth finally broke, the same industry dressed in black and applauded its own courage. Silence while it pays. Virtue once it's safe. That's the system. “And that's the real lie. Not that these people are monsters. Most aren't. The lie is calling it courage. Real courage costs you something. Saying what every room in town already applauds costs nothing. Saying the opposite is what costs. That's why so few artists stand with Elon. Not because they've studied his ideas and rejected them, but because standing there is a career risk they can't afford. “Look at what happened to him when he left the consensus. Advertisers fled. Friends disappeared. Invitations stopped. He could afford it. Almost nobody else can. That tells you exactly how free that world really is. “So wake up. Stop taking your political cues from people whose paycheck depends on agreeing. A celebrity endorsement is not an argument. It's a loyalty signal. Your vote, your convictions, your children's future: don't outsource them to people who are paid to recite lines someone else wrote. “The people who build the future rarely get applause from the people who perform it. “Think for yourself. It's the most American thing you can do.” —Brivael Le Pogam (@brivael), translated from French

couple making $100k/yr also collects EBT this is the same mindset as @NHHouseDems wanting to remove the income cap for free school lunches: the WANT middle class people to get on welfare (i.e. your taxes)
Caleb Hammer completely unloads on a Louisiana couple after learning their $100,000 household is collecting $500 a month in FOOD STAMPS. That’s $6,000/year in TAX-FREE income. HAMMER: “That PISSES me off.” That $6,000 cushion is exactly what lets them blow $3,600 a year eating out. Taxpayers cover the groceries so they can hit the restaurants. Hammer was so disgusted he stopped talking to them and started ranting under his breath, while the couple sat frozen in stunned silence. Maybe everyone gaming the system should have to sit across from a taxpayer and explain themselves. Something tells me the look on Hammer’s face will haunt them the next time they eat out.

On a Tuesday in May, Republican voters in Kentucky’s Fourth District retired the most stubborn man in Congress. @RepThomasMassie, an MIT-trained engineer and seven-term incumbent, lost his primary to Trump-endorsed @EdGallrein in a race that drew more than $32 million in ad spending, the most expensive House primary in American history. All of this to decide who would occupy one seat out of 435. So why that seat, and why so much? Massie was a particular kind of irritant. He arrived in Washington in 2012, the year @RonPaul departed (after an awesome mic drop), carrying Paul’s endorsement and much of his creed. He took up Paul’s old cause of auditing the Federal Reserve, reintroducing the bill Congress after Congress. He voted against deficits, no matter which party created them. In March 2020, as leaders of both parties prepared to pass a $2 trillion stimulus package by voice vote in a mostly empty chamber, Massie demanded a recorded vote, saying he refused to let the republic die “by unanimous consent and an empty chamber.” The president called him a “third-rate grandstander.” Massie’s great sin was wanting the public to know who voted for legislation so economically consequential. Last year he did something rarer still. When House leadership refused to bring the Epstein Files Transparency Act to the floor, Massie gathered 218 signatures on a discharge petition and forced the vote over the objections of the Speaker and the White House. It passed 427 to 1. One member of Congress, armed with nothing but the rules, had compelled the government to open its files. For this he was marked. Continue reading in the link below…

Not only that, but that era of crazy-high crime from 1970 through about 1990 was the high-water mark of gun control in this country. Some cities had total (or effective) handgun bans, and Brady back then openly called for such bans, it was even in their old name. The "collective right" lie was at its apex and the true Second Amendment had to literally be resuscitated through a multi-decade effort. Why anyone thinks that gun control has any track record of success is beyond me. It's certainly not supported by the data.
I added a box to the time period, starting with the Bruen decision, where gun control groups started constantly saying that crime was going to increase and the country became less safe:

Why is Trump’s DOJ @AGToddBlanche appealing a court win for gun owners?!
🚨BREAKING🚨 @TheJusticeDept just appealed GOA’s win against Biden’s engaged in the business rule. DOJ is fighting to preserve every part of Biden’s rule—even though President Trump promised to “rip it up and throw it out on day one.” Why is DOJ still working against Trump?

🚨BREAKING🚨 ATF has finally issued guidance following GOA’s historic NFA victory. The agency says it will no longer enforce federal registration and approval requirements for suppressors and short-barreled firearms for everyone, nationwide.
🚨BREAKING🚨 In GOA's case, a federal court just stuck down NFA registration for: ❌Suppressors ❌Short-Barreled Rifles ❌Short-Barreled Shotguns GOA & our allies in Congress eliminated the tax. The National Firearms Act of 1934 is now UNCONSTITUTIONAL as applied.

Democracy only “dies” when leftist lose. >When Meloni took Italy in 2022, the media warned of fascism returning. >When Milei took Argentina in 2023 with 56%, they said democracy itself was at risk. Both won free elections. >After Britain voted to leave in 2016, Parliament blocked the result for 3 years and a second referendum campaign accused the voters of being the problem. >Orbán won four straight Hungarian elections with supermajorities, most recently in 2022 with 54%, and the EU answered by withholding billions and threatening to strip Hungary’s voting rights. >Trump won the Electoral College 306–232 in 2016. The Russia investigation found no conspiracy and yet he was impeached twice. Any challenge to 2020 was considered an insurrection by the officials who called the 2016 elections illegitimate for 4 years. >Levitsky’s “How Democracies Die” got applied to Trump, Bolsonaro, Orbán, and Meloni before any of them abolished an election or took power by force. >Between 2023 and 2026, 9 South and Central American governments shifted right, including Milei’s Argentina and Kast’s Chile. Each vote was certified free and fair and yet each winner was labeled a threat even before taking office. “Protect our democracy” has always meant “protect our rule”.
Leftists in Brazil: political interference is when political interference is defunded. Leftists in the US: cheating is when they demand voter ID to stop the cheating. Leftists are all the same everywhere because imbecility is all the same everywhere.

AI is a marketing term. There is actually no such thing as artificial intelligence, for computer algorithms have no capacity for rational thought. They know nothing of the content they produce.

MIT climate scientist (and former IPCC lead author) Dr. Richard Lindzen: "...the trouble is all of us scientists are government employees, even if we're working for private universities. All research is supported by the government. So as such, we're very sensitive to what politicians say and believe. And that's a shortcoming. You have to figure out how to fund science in a way that there are no incentives to artificially promoting things."

I encourage you to read an Everytown brief as well as the briefs of your allied state AGs, which proudly cite outlier Jim Crow laws to defend modern gun control. In addition to literally copying those laws in the modern era, like Santa Clara County passing their $2,000 CCW fees over the complaints of the local NAACP chapter. That's straight out of the post-Reconstruction South lol. Also, I need to stop responding to Max cuz my twitter algo then keeps feeding me more Max tweets. It's hell.
Look at all of the racist replies. These is who these folks are.
