If you want your clothes to last longer than 6 months and don’t want to walk around looking disheveled, laundry is actually a Herculean task and truly the most annoying part of running a house. It is constantly pilling up, you are forever drowning in it, just when you get through a load there’s now two more waiting for you somehow. If men were responsible for properly doing the laundry for an entire household they’d abandon their families en masse.

Where I grew up in Seattle, there was a common thing called being a “closet republican”
People whose views leaned right (or even centrist) tended to keep their political views to themselves b/c the left leaning folks were so overwhelmingly numerous and vocal
You could literally lose your job, chances for a promotion, get flunked out of school, socially outcast, etc for holding or expressing mainstream conservative views
Having grown up in that I assumed it was as normal, and then once I started traveling and living in other cities it became clear how extreme that was
I think all people, regardless of left, right or center, see their political views as both moral and rational
It just comes down to differing sets of values
If you stack rank values differently, then a different set of political outcomes seem obviously rational and moral based on those values
When you start seeing the world in that way it becomes a lot harder to demonize the other side
People stop being “nazis” or “libtards” and start becoming people who simply stack rank values differently than you
We get to a better place by openly discussing and debating values and how + why they should be stack ranked one way over another
Appearances should be left out of it entirely
My company does mid 8 figures in revenue

Yes, things are more volatile now with technology and AI speeding everything up. Good years will likely continue to be +15-30%
But there’s extremely high odds we get a secular bear market sometime after the AI bubble peaks. Every capex bubble in history has ended the same way
You should expect to have to average in some viscous down years, as well as flat years, alongside the great years going forward
If you’re investing over a 10-20+ yr time horizon looking forward, much more reasonable to assume a CAGR closer to ~10% nominal
But that’s nominal, and there is ZERO chance inflation stays at 2% or even 3% over the coming decades. With how f*cked the US’s fiscal and debt/gdp situation is, we’ll be lucky if inflation runs anything less than 5% over a longer time horizon
So in real purchasing power terms, you’re better off to assume your invested $ will grow at ~5% in real purchasing power terms
That means a doubling takes 15 years
Save & invest accordingly
