the lesser spotted detectorist. saturday 3rd. @D3lMundos @WILDMUNDOS
Climeta just finished its first ever conservation charity vote!
Over the coming weeks I will go over some of the more interesting design choices and implementations which demonstrates how this project can now scale enormously on proven infrastructure and how this is built for longevity.
But for now I would like to thank the charities for getting involved in Web3 and of course all the voting Del Mundos!
The treasury has now been split and transferred and the reward pool has been sent to all those who voted.
All evidence is of course on chain. Here is one of the final batches of rewards being sent from Ray Del Mundo's very own erc6551 wallet to Climeta and distributed out to DM owners as per their vote counts!
It is probably time to discuss RayI.
This post covers some of the technical aspects of RayI and his high level evolution. A more detailed description of the creation of the tone of voice and character along with talking through the effort to fine tune will be covered another time.
RayI started out as an experiment in interacting with LLMs and exploring the possibilities of having some Community Management workloads semi automated.
It originated as a simple context based LLM call based approach, which first was used within a telegram channel as a sounding board for the team and then extended to be used for other activities, such as the generation of the Del Mundo individual descriptions.
As the use of LLM models developed over the last couple of years, capabilities and methods of integrating LLMs improved to the point where quite sophisticated workflows became possible, along with the idea of providing tooling capability to a reasoning workflow.
This has allowed us to take RayI from a simple looping LLM chat interface into a true agentic actor within our ecosystem.
We have written custom tooling for RayI to use, and provided orchestration workflows which allow RayI to create task lists, reason his way through actions and access the wider internet, blockchain apis, opensea market information and past interactions. Future work will allow access to more curated toolsets as well as developing the Agent discovery and Agent to Agent aspects to allow him to directly interact with other like-minded characters.
The possibilities that this now offers the Del Mundos is pretty much only limited to our imaginations and we intend to weave RayI and the 9999 other Del Mundos into a wider narrative that allows far greater interaction between holders, Del Mundos and agentic AI capability as a whole. As with all things Del Mundos, this needs to be done right, with community buy-in and Ray’s particular characteristics and positivity.
The daily updates are just a warmup. RayI and his friends are just getting started.
For the Mundo-A-Mundo discord app, the biggest challenge was not navigating the discord bot creation process, or the myriad of permissions to decipher.
The main issue was getting 2 equal sized images in a single message!
I am lazy, which makes me a motivated engineer.
The answer is to create an image whenever one is needed. I created a hosted api route and had that api take in the 2 tokenids and create the image of the 2, side by side and the right order as it was needed.
From this code snippet you can see it is actually quite straightforward once you have the 2 images (from response 1 + 2).
Within software development, there is an understudied topic on what some experts call software waste, which is to do with code that never makes it into production. I personally do not see this as waste, it is all part of the meandering nature of system engineering, even within traditionally structured models of development.
There is seldom a direct line between the start and the finish in delivering products, only hindsight has this property. The Del Mundos are no different.
One interesting side quest for the Del Mundos was the concept of off chain signing.
We then can check that signer and make sure they are the one we expect. If the data does not match the signature, is on a different chain or not aligned to the specific contract, this all fails.
This mechanism to dynamically generate pricing for an NFT in real-time may well be something we use in the future.
Treated correctly, side-quests and engineering cul de sacs are not necessarily wasted code. They are educational and while they certainly can eat up precious time in the short term, they can be leveraged for good in the long.
