As sports bettors, we are not as smart as we think we are. A good reminder from @Mattrud (author of the book Smart Sports Betting) as inch ever closer to football szn. #ZoneHeadsPodcast #NewEpisode 🔗 tinyurl.com/mrrmr98a

Naive people overuse exclamation points, and overconfident people underuse them. Yanno?!

Using AI to turn a basic prompt into a "book" is the dumbest thing I've ever heard and antithetical to your intent. That said, using AI to turn your manuscript into a book is genius and world-changing. My current stance on AI is just that: It's the dumbest and greatest thing ever created. Depending on how you use it. Key word: You.
Introducing `gpt-author` 📕✍️ One prompt -> an entire fantasy novel! Just describe the high-level details, and a chain of AI systems will write an entire book for you in minutes. - complete w/ cover art - export to Kindle store And it's open-source: github.com/mshumer/gpt-autho…

AI will murder mediocre writers. Great writers know how to murder the murderers with murderous mirth. “Information is surprise.” AI = Average Intelligence (on steroids). I dare you to produce anything as absurd as my brain, AI McScribeswitch.

Writing is not hard. Period. Hyping yourself up to write IS hard. Succeeding as a writer is harder than crusty underwear. Aka — nobody wants to talk about it, but people exist on the other side.
There’s so much writing on Twitter about how hard it is to write. And I’m not sure the discourse around “the struggle of writing” is conducive to creativity or our best work. How much of the struggle is invented because we repeatedly here how hard it is?

We all have a choice. Guaranteed mediocrity, or uncertain greatness. And yet ... ... mediocrity reigns supreme.

Incredible. Brian Armstrong’s HackerNews post looking for a cofounder for Coinbase. “Because Bitcoin worked out so well. Have fun with that, dude.” “I don’t think you’ve properly thought this through.” “I’m gonna call it right now: bad idea.” news.ycombinator.com/item?id…

My business thesis. And still, nobody gets it
Econ 101: “all markets trend towards full efficiency” Implied: Don’t bother doing new shit, you’ll get usurped ASAP Reality: You can get rich as fuck by exploiting these constant, slow-evolving inefficiencies 10 yrs later, I look at my Econ curriculum and learn what not to do

Boredom comes from a lack of curiosity. The busier you get, the more bored you become. A beautiful paradox. I’ve failed at many things, but I’m free as a bird. And birds ain’t bored.
How much would you pay to have the space in your life to say "I'm soooo bored..." as you did as a kid?

The easiest way to get attention is to be wrong, but far in advance. (Or you can write for smart people and cap your audience but not hate yourself)

Basically, make bold predictions that can’t be proven wrong til the masses have forgotten

Or just rewrite your Bitcoin is Dead column every time it’s down 20%
The world has a surplus of novelty and a dearth of reminders. Hence why fortune cookie wisdom sells.

A guy came up to Picasso in a restaurant and asked him to draw his portrait Picasso drew it on a napkin, handed it over and said that’ll be $5000... And Satoshi was like, oh you get that bitcoin can be fractional? Marry me. And that’s why Satoshi’s last name is Picasso.
