The empty tomb is good news not simply because it points to Jesus's work on the cross and his victory over death: Jesus has become the immortal King! Repentant allegiance to King Jesus yields life for us--now and forever. #Easter #Gospel #resurrection #goodnews

Got a question about Romans? I'm willing to hazard an answer, trying my best to track what the Spirit is trying to say to the church through Paul. This is the first installment of student questions, facilitated by Karla Adcox and Mike Chu. youtube.com/watch?v=2ut0x3OQ…
Matthew W. Bates retweeted
“The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.”
—Rom 15:3
“The hatred spewed forth was ultimately aimed at God the Father, although it landed on the Son … Jesus as the willing Son stands as a substitute in place of the Father.”

Double substitution.

Cool, wow, I'm honored to see Beyond the Salvation Wars on Spectrum's "best of" list. Thanks, @jcoberlake .
Spectrum Culture's favorite books of the year is up. I picked @MatthewWBates' latest, and I was happy to see the latest Stephen Graham Jones novel make it (the other one I really considered). I'm adding to my to-read list now...

I'm considering a new book project, The Truth About the Rapture. One-third of the pages inside will be blank, one-third scribbled out charts, and the final third ripped out entirely. What else would it need to include for you to buy it for your favorite pastor?
Honored that Beyond the Salvation Wars was named runner-up ror Engaging Scripture's "Best Book (Overall)" in biblical studies! Many fantastic books and authors received awards, including @carmenjoyimes and @paulthomasloan. Discover other titles and winners in the thread's link.
If you've not yet read @paulthomasloan's Jesus and the Law of Moses, then hasten to it. Here's a brand new @OnScriptPodcast interview to prime the pump, hosted by yours truly and @jasonstaples. Enjoy!
There’s a new podcast interview on my Jesus and the Law of Moses with @OnScriptPodcast, with @MatthewWBates and @jasonstaples. Good times.
