Close, but not close enough! With hard work by so many, & the enthusiastic support of so many local residents in #SouthShropshire, we created a fantastic 22.4% swing from Conservative to LibDem. I'm proud of that, & everyone involved, including those voting for me, should be too.

A horrific Russian strike in the Kharkiv region. A “shahed” struck people directly – in a park near an ordinary café. Pure atrocity. Six people were killed, including children. A little girl was killed in a stroller – her name was Angelina, she was just over a year old, born in August 2025… Her mother’s name was Inna. She died in the hospital… Another girl who was killed was 11 years old. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Another 14 people were injured, including six more children. I am grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine under these circumstances and helps us shoot down “shaheds,” shoot down missiles, and stop Russian assaults. These are horrific photos, but behind them are shattered lives and the truth about this war. Lives must be protected. Ukraine needs air defense. You can't think about making money with Russia as long as it continues its asinine war. We ask that sanctions on Russia stay in place as long as the killings continue. We ask America to be strong, and we ask it to apply the Lindsey Graham law. We ask Europe to continue its support. We ask that everything possible be done to bring peace and guarantee security. Ukraine wants peace. It is Russia that has insisted on continuing the killing all this time. The world has enough strength to stop the war. That strength must finally be used – against the murderers.

I’m sorry to read that Richard Tice’s commute to Parliament from Dubai is proving so difficult.
British Airways is an embarrassing disgrace of an airline @British_Airways Routinely selling many more tickets than seats, putting lots of passengers on standby who bought tickets months ago, a woeful customer attitude of ‘shrug shrug, not my job’ 🤷‍♂️ Then not sending the luggage of standby passengers: one case may arrive on next flight an hour later, 1 case shrug shrug wait until tomorrow afternoon when it may or may not arrive 🤷‍♂️ Britain is Broken

More Ukrainian lives will be lost as a result of this disgraceful decision. The Ukrainian front line is our front line, they deserve and need the full support of all Europe and the USA.

Unbelievable and shameful.
Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone." He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population." He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory." "They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this." He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

There are still people on the right who venerate this lunatic.

Trump and his lapdog Musk are trying again to bully Ukraine into surrendering to Putin's savage aggression. The UK and Europe can't let them succeed. The Coalition of the Willing needs to seize the £180bn in frozen Russian assets across Europe and use them to defend Ukraine.
Elon Musk has turned on Ukraine by imposing limits on his Starlink devices, Kyiv has claimed. Under the new Starlink measures, terminals moving faster than 100mph will lose or partially lose their satellite connection, potentially cutting off live video feeds, remote control and real-time tracking for military units and drones. 🔗: telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

This is chilling. I feel for anyone watching this tonight who is frightened to see such racism and hatred festering in their community. It's the very worst of what we’re seeing in Trump’s America. We can’t let it become Farage’s Britain.

Hey, @elonmusk, big man, are you playing politics with your products again? As your European customers, we are watching you.
⚡️ 'This cannot be a coincidence' — Ukraine's Starlink access restricted without warning, Zelensky adviser says. Ukraine relies on Starlink to operate its mid-strike drones in Russian-occupied Ukraine. kyivindependent.com/this-can…

Deeply concerning reports that @elonmusk restricted Ukraine’s access to Starlink, potentially on Trump’s orders, just as Russia launched another ballistic missile attack. Putin must be delighted. Our collective security cannot be left at the mercy of unelected tech oligarchs.

Back in #Bridgnorth today. Pleasing how many people said they remember when I was their MP. No. of people saying they’ll vote #LibDem in #SouthShropshire to make sure Reform don’t win, is significant. There’s also concern the Conservatives will help Farage into No.10. #shropshire

The only winner in the Brexit referendum was President Putin. The British people, both leave and remain voters, were the losers.

I’m not going to agree with Andy Burnham on everything, but this statement needed to be said by a Prime Minister. After the Conservatives suppressed the truth for years, this took courage.

President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day. Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine. As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia. America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration. Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him. America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. Here in Southport we smashed Reform in May, unseating their first councillor in my ward and winning 17 of 21 seats. We also wiped the Conservatives off Sefton Council altogether. The current @LibDems leadership team knows how to win and I back them completely.
