rocking my @weirdoBase beanie to a comedy show tonight - just felt right
Privacy and compliance are not mutually exclusive with cryptographic technology. I'm glad this convo is about to go mainstream in crypto circles. Next stop, regulators.

Dear #nvleg and those ushering digital asset legislation through this session that very few legislators truly understand … Please speak to non-academic SMEs before reaching a decision. ⬇️

If you are a believer in crypto, take nothing away from what happened to Silvergate & Signature Bank as anything other than this: If you want to see the future that crypto/Web3 has the potential to bring, we need to change. The ecosystem ran as far as it could without being an adult at the government table. That race failed miserably. Time to plan, act, and work like adults.
The upside to the crackdown is self custody tech is about to explode…as it should. And why lots of us are devoting our careers to crypto. Self sovereignty. Keep building while they regulate centralized actors. And save up for the real policy battle when self custody is put in the cross hairs.

When intermediaries financialize products, and exert effort to boost advertised “yields” for customers, they remove themselves from providing purely technical services.
The industry needs to return to “long-term, responsible growth – instead of short term profit-driven incentives.” 👏🏼

This is it. This is the game. Education has never been more important.
If crypto is going to have the impact that everyone in this space is pulling for, we need to be a united front. It’s a big enough tent where different views should be explored and let iron sharpen iron. Best ideas win. That’s how we get regulation right.
Web3 ID solves so many problems we have in the digital space. Excited to be part of the policy conversation. Kudos to @Web3IDForum for putting on a killer inaugural event. Give them a follow to stay up on things.
What a great event put on by @Web3IDForum . It's time that digital identity becomes a main part of the web3 policy conversation in DC and globally.

Centralization, leverage and opacity are the common denominators. There is a certain ethos that if followed can prevent shakeouts that are all common tales as old as time.
Pumped to be moderating a panel at the Web3 ID forum in Washington D.C. We’ll be discussing legislative action to enable a future where data privacy & ownership is controlled by people rather than companies. If you're into decentralized identity follow web3idforum.org/
