Why hasn't @afPE_PE called out the importance of #watersafety via X & via their website news notifications in recent months. As with others, we have noticed marked deterioration in professional standards within this organisation since your departure. Moneymaking and little else.

We have to ask @warwickmansell if he has formally approached both @educationgovuk & @CommonsEd to present the most alarming of disclosures from such a weighty amount of investigative findings in relation to Academy Trust malpractice? They should've approached him by now of course.

The Exchequer would have every right to state that #Education has been adequately budgeted for. It is HOW #AcademyTrusts have CHOSEN to spend their budget that remains disproportionately allocated to overpaid non-teaching Senior Leaders instead of member schools' needs:

1) Further testimony received that shines a light upon poor standards in #PhysicalEducation - this reminded us that we had still not received a reply from

2) 'I know how rigorously each application is checked and any company that offers services outside @afPE_PE

Certain elected representatives would do well to research the abuses of the #Academies system over the years, not least the practice of non-teaching Trust senior leaders who have brazenly skimmed funds from member schools for unethical purposes. FYI: @LucyMPowell @Georgia_Gould

Concerned #PhysicalEducation specialists have contacted us privately expressing their frustration at the sharp price increase of @afPE_PE resource e.g. 'indulging in further profiteering practices'. Previously £40 per year, what will be the impact for PE safety in practice?

School leaders 'nervous' about new sports network: tes.com/magazine/news/genera… What real assurances can @educationgovuk give that EVERY child will benefit from this national strategy - will this one FINALLY deliver 100% robust, transparent accountability & scrutiny?

How will both @educationgovuk & @NEUnion close any loopholes in respect to 'creative accountancy' that can be glossed over (even encouraged) by Trusts' own appointed auditors? Why aren't auditors appointed by DfE and required to report back to them? Transparency of expenses?

Collision of DE vision of "local" #academytrusts with their geographically-spread reality exposed in new analysis: educationuncovered.co.uk/new… Yet @educationgovuk wants to prioritise 'geographical coherence' within its multi-academy trust model. How will this be fixed for all?

We have long warned that this could be the outcome following YEARS of too many schools, largely #Academies & #AcademyTrusts who have abused the grant e.g. using for PPA cover, using to pay PE Teacher's salary annually, forcing 'subject leaders' to make up the statutory report etc
The PE and sport premium will be scrapped and replaced by a new school sports ‘partnerships network’ in a move described as ‘deeply concerning’ by heads' leaders

Now we have confirmation of the clear, naked ambition & aggression by @bphillipsonMP @educationgovuk that all schools will be forced into academisation within the coming years if approved by Parliament.
@NEUnion leader, Daniel Kebede is absolutely right with his reply:
Forcing every school into a multi-academy trust is not reform it’s a power grab.
We’ve all seen the horror stories: bloated CEO pay packets while classrooms go without support staff; schools silenced by centralised PR teams; experienced teachers pushed out by remote executives who’ve never set foot in their community.
That’s not collaboration. That’s control.
What raises standards isn’t a logo at the top of a letterhead, it’s proper funding, national pay and conditions, and accountability to local communities.
Our children need investment, not enforced academisation.

Several PE Specialists alerted us to the following FB activity. It raises the question as to whether those who sanctioned 'MAT fund pooling' foresaw its consequences:reduced school autonomy, weaker accountability, centralised control, and the potential misuse or diversion of funds
Following on from the success of the pilot scheme in York, a further twenty local authorities across England are now signed up to launch similar schemes to tackle the number of pupils starting school without being fully toilet-trained: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ck4g…
