Tice: warmer summers mean better English wine.
Also this summer: over £800m in lost revenue for England’s farmers from the hot, dry 2025 season, per the CCC. Drought orders. Wildfires.

In the Green Party, any member can propose a policy. It’s in our constitution, and members decide whether to debate it.
So when the media presents that as the Green Party “proposing” a policy, they’re misleading you.
Worth asking why the billionaire press constantly attacks us.

I have heard many people in the water industry and indeed some in government repeating the lie, why I wonder?
Of the £91 billion being spent by water companies over the next 5 years £90 billion of it, that's 99% it is being funded directly from bill payers pockets, from your bank account and mine, not shareholders.
Which raises the obvious question, what actually is the point of the shareholders, why do we need them?

This continues to be pathetically inadequate.
@andyburnham has a one of chance to shift the blame onto previous administrations and show that he really understands climate change by having Independent scientists broadcast the facts to the public before the likely winter flooding occurs @nebriefing

The NFU is right. This is the new climate reality.
It doesn't matter whether people believe it's climate change. It won't care when we run out of water, food costs rocket & wildfires spread.
We need a Climate Adaptation Minister to lead cross-govt action

"Claims that wildfires can be prevented simply by forest thinning or raking up debris are not only inaccurate, but they are also part of a broader pattern of disinformation in response to climate-fueled extreme weather. That disinformation deflects from what experts say is the biggest driver of worsening fires: the rapidly warming climate."
Forestry isn't the problem.
Physics is.
And physics doesn't vote Republican.

The drought is exposing a weakness in nuclear power. Lack of water in the Danube has closed two reactors in Romania and one in Hungary. Similar problems have shut three in France. At least eight others in Europe are having to operate on reduced power.

Scotland just lost 600 hectares of an ancient forest that has stood since the ice sheets melted 9,000 years ago. The Cairngorms wildfire is still burning after 12 days.
Yes, this is happening right now.
