Canada spent 20 minutes fouling and 5 seconds forgetting to mark Ellis. Priorities. #mib #meninblazers @MenInBlazers #usmnt

Canada: 'It's just a friendly.' Also Canada: 11 fouls in 20 minutes #mib #meninblazers @MenInBlazers #usmnt

This is a friendly the way a bar fight is a networking event. #mib #meninblazers @MenInBlazers #usmnt #canada

A friendly, they call it. As if anything that makes a grown man weep into a pretzel dip at the hour mark could be friendly. More like a séance for summers lost. #meninblazers #mib @MenInBlazers #usmnt

Beneath the canopy of Allianz Field, two nations who share the longest undefended border on earth are doing their level best to injure each other. This, friends, is love. Love that requires shin guards. #mib #meninblazers @MenInBlazers #usmnt #canada

Waiting for Rog to describe a Canadian throw-in as the sorrowful sigh of a thousand Tim Hortons. #mib #meninblazers @MenInBlazers #usmnt

Dempsey retired in 2018 and still has more swagger than Canada's starting XI. #mib #usmnt @MenInBlazers @clint_dempsey

Me: I'm not anxious about the US v Canada match. Also me: {Standing two feet from the TV clutching a decorative pillow like it's my firstborn} #mib @MenInBlazers #usmnt

Both fanbases are saying 'it's only a friendly' while gripping their couches hard enough to leave permanent fingerprints. #mib #usmnt @MenInBlazers

Marsch is from Wisconsin. Which means he's a Minnesotan who took a wrong turn and just decided to commit. #usmnt #mib #canada #minnesota #wisconsin

Minnesota nice vs Canadian nice. But something tells me no one's going to apologize after the studs-up tackle. #mib #usmnt

Like @usmnt vs Mexico, US vs Canada is becoming a friendly the way a cage match is a friendly chat. #mib #usmnt

"Elsewhere" I feel it in the spaces- the ones between sentences, between breaths, between bodies that used to bend toward each other. Bodies in orbit but hearts in suspension, screens hold the gaze that we once lent each other. Fingers flicker like candles in cathedrals of the distracted, bodies side by side but miles apart. It's not the glow that haunts me. It's the way eyes don't meet anymore. Rooms full of people, all somewhere else. The silence isn't empty. It's heavy— a weighted whisper pressing against the ribs. We don't look away anymore. We don't look up to begin with. I move through the quiet like a ghost who still remembers what laughter sounded like when it lived outside a phone speaker. We scroll instead of speak, trade touch for touchscreens and call it connection, but we're all buffering between breaths. Ghosts with glowing thumbs, souls synced but not seen, congregating in silence under backlit blue beams. We build card-constructed houses of glass and code, kneel at the altar of "just one more scroll," baptized by pings, redeemed by nothing. Every glance, averted. Every mom ent, divided. Presence, a currency we've forgotten how to spend. The revolution we feared didn't come with bombs. It came with notifications. Conversations grew shallow, touch grew optional, presence became a background process. I'm not drowning in the noise. I'm stranded in the quiet it left behind. Surrounded by faces turned away, not from me, but into something else entirely. There's a strange kind of loneliness in a room full of people who aren't really here. Not gone. Just... elsewhere. And I wonder, since they're all, always, looking down, does it mean that what—or who—they'd see if they were looking up is somehow worth.. less? --- #poetry #spokenwordpoetry #socialcriticism #writing #tech

"The entire World Cup tournament will have Kansas City fingerprints. Games in [multiple states] will all be played in stadiums designed by architects in Kansas City — the world capital of sports stadium design." shared a Washington Post writer in "What is America’s best sports city? Nine compete for the crown." Kansas City rose among the ranks, recognized for “punching above its weight,” and being a place “where new sports find a warm welcome, and sports history has a place of honor.” Read the full article here: bit.ly/47GpIRQ #WeAreKansasCity #FIFAWorldCup

I haven't posted on Twitter in a while, but @msmallmon mentioned @Entenmanns donuts with the crumbles on the top, and I nearly jumped out of my chair. FINALLY someone remembers these AMAZING breakfast treasures. Especially the devil's food ones. Haven't seen them in decades. @UnSportsESPN
