The classic life is lived forward but understood backwards moment. This would turn out to be the greatest night in Red Sox history, but that wasn’t immediately clear when it could have been just a speed bump on another fail, still down 3-1. Subsequent wins sealed its meaning.
"WE'LL SEE YA LATER TONIGHT." Also... how is this 22 freakin years ago? Still seems like yesterday.

Seems fair that the Sox had to fly to Florida to play a game that means absolutely nothing to them while the Yankees just get an extra rest day
Game alert: Orioles-Yankees canceled due to inclement weather Sunday. Game will not be rescheduled.

The contractor that renovated the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has told the Trump administration that errors in its own work and flaws in the repair plan, not vandalism, caused the pool’s new blue liner to peel and break loose, documents show. nyti.ms/4xSMsu7

Her internal polls have this tied. In a change election with a blue wave, we shouldn't sleep on a great candidate running a strong campaign:
WATCH: South Carolinians are ready for change and need a fighter in Washington who is on their side. This 30 second ad is the first in a series of ads that will air for the next 70 days as we continue to build a campaign that everyone in this state — regardless of who you may have supported in the past — can be proud of.

Every classroom in Texas is required to display the 10 Commandments.
Government-owned airports cannot favor one religion over all others. DFW plans to install Islamic wudu washing facilities are illegal. I've directed a review of all state grants to both airports for possible revocation, and referred DFW & IAH to USDOT for investigation. Texas will not allow illegal religious discrimination at taxpayer-funded facilities.

Not just the Hatch Act. That, of course, would be true of any cabinet member. But the Attorney General is in a different category. It’s a gross violation of every ethical standard of the rule of law. Showing he is nothing but a partisan, lickspittle, puppet, unfit for his office.
A gross violation of the Hatch Act. And no one will say a word. Hell of a system we’ve got here.

Wow… can only imagine what Republicans whose names are ACTUALLY on the ballot this year will think about this. Trump is the DCCC’s and the DSCC’s best asset when it comes to messaging.
Trump: For you to pay a TINY little bit more for your gasoline, you're doing it so that a very evil country cannot have a nuclear weapon. Remember that when you’re paying $4. I’ll never apologize.

Nothing like a little irony here in Iowa. In a game built, in part, around the story of Shoeless Joe Jackson and his second chance after being banned as part of the Black Sox scandal, there are gambling ads in each outfield corner.

Whether the Strait of Hormuz is declared “open” or “closed,” the only status that matters is how many ships are passing through it. Before February 28, 2026, about 130-140 ships traversed the strait each day. Yesterday, it was 8. 👉🏻 reuters.com/world/middle-eas…

Vaccines do not cause autism Vaccine doses are nowhere close to “the size of a bottle of soda,” they’re a fraction of a teaspoon The combo MMR vaccine is not “quite lethal,” it’s been very safe for more than five decades There are no separate M/M/R shots available in the US and won’t be anytime soon  Autism prevalence wasn’t “1 in 10,000” in 2006, it was 1 in 110 No state has been requiring little kids to get “72 jabs,” nor even by age 18 Fact check on the rapid-fire vaccine misinformation President Trump delivered yesterday while pushing to change US vaccine policy: cnn.com/2026/08/11/politics/…

It takes a special kind of stupid to blow all our good missiles on a war in which we give Iran control of 20 percent of world commerce afterwards

Predictably, full scale war has broken out again with Iran. The Strait of Hormuz is closed. Gas prices are spiking again. The bottom line? Trump has no moves to make. His spiraling incompetence has boxed America in. It's only going to get worse. 1/ Here's where things stand.

The Iran war was launched 133 days ago. The administration repeatedly said it would last 4-6 weeks. They also touted an MOU 23 days ago, with Vance saying the "coolest thing" was seeing Iranian moderation. And, now tonight, we're thrust right back into conflict.
Iran made a poor choice. Now they pay.
