I'm not saying there's a demonstrably "best" way to live, but I'm not not saying either.

Calling the H1-B program "the free market" is also ridiculous.
It's a special government subsidy program that allows companies to import foreign workers, rather than incur the additional costs to hire/train a US worker.
Why defend Big Tech's rent-seeking?
Of course, the dirty secret is that large hospital systems don't really *know* what their "real prices" actually are.
Why not?
Because they charge different payors (Gov't, insurance, cash, etc) different prices.
Not only do these big healthcare systems not know what their "market price" is -- they're actively trying to make it worse.
They're now lobbying to unbundle common things like labor and delivery, adding further mud to some very muddy water and confusing patients.
They actually CAN survive by charging real (and MUCH lower) prices instead of the fictitious and grossly inflated ones they charge now.
When you engage in these negotiations with providers they usually come in around 110-125% of what Medicare pays.
Most folks assume this means there are huge profits that could be painlessly wrung out of healthcare to make it cheaper. In fact it's evidence of a highly opaque system of cross-subsidies. They can afford to offer discounts to uninsured folks with limited ability to pay--but that doesn't mean they could survive by offering those prices to everyone.
Wait until AI runs those robots.
You can't learn to code, AI does that too.

Scott Galloway lays out the numbers to Abdul El-Sayed.
• The Holocaust killed 40% of Europe's Jews
• Rwanda killed 70% of the Tutsis
• Cambodia killed 1/3 of the entire country
• In Gaza, it is 3% at most, alongside polio vaccines, 2,500 calories a day and leaflets warning civilians to leave
El-Sayed doesn't dispute a single number.
Instead, he says "we want to quibble about the words," and that the word genocide "should be used because it speaks to the moral imperative of action."
Genocide is the word the world coined for the extermination of a people. It is the gravest charge there is. And El-Sayed's case for leveling it at the Jewish state isn't that it's true.
It's that it helps him get what he wants.
The H1-B program is a government intervention.
With all due respect, Mr Vice-President @JDVance, businesses must be free to hire and fire as they need, subject to the demands of the rule of law. Absent that freedom, the dynamism and prosperity that creates jobs in the first place will soon disappear.

Dynamism and prosperity don’t depend upon a State-department enabled access to a legally-encumbered foreign labor pool, which is the issue being discussed. Respectful engament would require engaging on the substance.
