Today we celebrated 36 years of God’s faithfulness to @FairviewBC! We gathered this morning for worship and rejoiced in two baptisms—beautiful reminders of God’s saving grace and the new life we have in Christ. Then we came back tonight to share a meal and enjoy fellowship as a church family. As we look back, our hearts are full of gratitude for God’s grace and mercy toward us and his faithfulness through the years. As we look ahead, we do so with confidence in his goodness and prayerful expectation for the fruit he will bring in the years to come.

It’s a day of prayer at @Fairviewbc. We’ve asked our covenant members to stop by our gathering space and pray for our church, fellow members, and our missions and ministry partners. Tomorrow we celebrate God’s faithfulness to our church family on our anniversary. Grateful for these people.

“Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 These brothers are a source of friendship, wisdom, accountability, and encouragement for me as a fellow pastor/elder of @Fairviewbc. Week in and week out, they eagerly lead, shepherd, and pray for our beloved church members (1 Peter 5:1–3). They model the character and competency outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7–9. These men are a gift from God to our church and to me (Ephesians 4:11–12). Each one is commendable in their personal lives and in their love for others (Hebrews 13:7; Acts 20:28). I want to be the first to say it. So, on this #PastorAppreciationMonth, I am thankful for each of you. It's an honor to serve with you.

19 years ago today, I married my love. So thankful for Laura, our children, and God’s faithfulness through every season.
