Ashutosh conveniently and incredulously forgets to mention that these “student” leaders and their champions are the ones referencing anarchy in Bangladesh and Europe as models for the Indian protest. It’s a good thing that Indian public is quite savvy about obfuscation of this kind. That, and the festivals, have cooled public’s interest in the protests. Bad timing. Suspicions around the intent (to cause anarchy). Diffused, disconnected agenda. And effective government response (after many failed ones - Farm Bill, included). All have ended this round of protests as we know it. But the sequence of protests is not over. There is a lot more money (from Neville and K-Stock, etc.) flowing in. Lot more social media views for content creators joining these protests. Many more young leaders wanting to gain political stature. That will keep the pot boiling until the next national elections.

You have been propagating propaganda all your life in the name of journalism. You should worry about “young” and ever fertile mind of propaganda-setter like yours and your cohorts first. “Important”!
IMPORTANT: the judicial custody of Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das extended by two days. Delhi Police wanted 5 days because of fear of protest call during festive season. Beyond ABSURD. 7 days custody needed for violating prohibitory orders? This is designed only to instil fear in young hearts and minds but may have just the opposite effect. 🙏

But I don’t understand the “desperation”! There are very good points against Communist “agenda-dharis”! In that situation, why should anybody weaken his or her own points and get into this type of wordings. It is like losing your own ground uselessly.
This desperation is a hidden dimension of horrible crimes.

The open truth haunts so deeply! #USA !
From cabinet secretaries to midlevel staffers, people who work for President Trump are calling law firms in search of legal advice as they brace for an avalanche of investigations next year if Democrats take one or both houses of Congress in the midterms. on.wsj.com/4egTIrI

Within a week or a little more, a restless soul appears with serious concern. This time about the “future of America”! America has every right to decide its course. But, the other day it was too much noise about #India and India’s businessman ! Time! Unravels us! Mercilessly!
Control of the senate will decide the future of America

Beautiful story behind this iconic song. We are soon organising a dedicated space on the #TheGuide music album by S.D. Burman and Shailendra’s lyrics, adding to the splendid cinematic experience of Hindi cinema history. @latajag is a great author and our guest speaker. Stay tuned.
There are some songs that you do not just listen to, you stay awake with them, and Din Dhal Jaye Haye Raat Na Jaye from Guide is one such sleepless, sighing night. Released in 1965, in a film that was already an act of great daring, Guide was not a typical Bombay romance. It was based on R K Narayan's English novel The Guide, a book that Narayan himself reportedly disliked when he saw the film, but which Vijay Anand turned into something else entirely, a story of a man who goes from being a greedy guide to a reluctant saint. Dev Anand, who produced the film, was not even sure at first if he should play Raju, a hero who is flawed, unfaithful, and ends up dying. But Goldie Anand, his younger brother who directed the film, told him, this is the role you will be remembered for. And he was right. This song comes at the moment when Raju has lost everything. Rosy, played by Waheeda Rehman, the dancer wife of Marco who had found her freedom through him, has left him. He is alone in a small, silent room, the light has faded, and the night refuses to end. The situation needed a song that was not loud with grief, but quiet with ache. S D Burman Dada composed it in Raag Khamaj, a raag that is traditionally used for late evening and carries both longing and devotion in its notes. If you listen closely, there is no heavy orchestra .Just a single, murmuring guitar, a soft accordion, a faint rhythm that sounds like a clock ticking, and strings that enter like memories. Burman Dada was in his sixties then, not keeping well, but he would come to the recording and sit silently, eyes closed, asking for less and less instruments. He told his musicians, let the silence speak. Shailendra, who wrote the lyrics, was a poet of few words. He was unwell too during Guide, struggling financially and emotionally, and perhaps that is why his words here feel so lived. Din dhal jaye haye raat na jaye, tu to na aaye teri yaad sataye, it is not just a love song, it is a description of that strange time when a day has ended but you cannot move into the next, because someone's memory holds you in between. And then there is Mohammed Rafi. This is often counted by musicians as one of his most difficult, perfectly pitched raag based songs. He sang it almost in a whisper, without any of the usual flourishes or vocal acrobatics. Vijay Anand had told him in the recording room, Rafi Saab, do not sing this as a singer, sing it as a man who is too tired to even cry. Rafi took just two takes. In the second take, his voice broke slightly at haye raat na jaye, and Burman Dada immediately said, keep it, do not correct it, that crack is the soul of the song. On screen, Dev Anand did something that was very unusual for him. Dev Anand was known for his fast walk, his nods, his energy. Here Goldie told him to do nothing. Just sit. Just look at an empty bed. Just let the shadow of the window grill fall on your face. Dev Saab later wrote in his autobiography that it was one of the most difficult scenes of his life, to be completely still and let sorrow show only in the eyes. There is a small anecdote that recording assistant Manohari Singh often shared. The famous humming that comes before the antara, that slow, rising hmm, was not planned. Rafi was just finding his pitch before starting and Burman Dada, who was listening from the cabin, gestured to the recordist to keep the tape running. That accidental alaap became the heart of the song. Guide went on to win seven Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and it was India's official entry to the Oscars. It was also one of the first Indian films to be made simultaneously in English, with Pearl S Buck writing the English version. But for all its international fame, for most Indians, Guide still means one image, Dev Anand alone at dusk, and a voice saying, din dhal jaye. More than sixty years later, the song still finds us on nights when sleep does not come easily #BollywoodEvergreen

“The offerings enter the sacred fire, and the hands return empty. I find a quiet lesson in that gesture. We can give something wholeheartedly without continuing to claim it”! The real essence of life! Just thinking. “Just return empty”! That emptiness might be fullness!Itself!
What will remain of these nine nights when the lamps have been put away? On Maha Navami, we welcome Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth manifestation of Durga, revered as the bestower of spiritual attainments and wisdom. Her name joins siddhi, meaning attainment or perfection, with datri, the giver. As this journey draws towards its close, I find myself thinking about what it means to have received a blessing. We often recognise it in something gained. Sometimes, I believe, it becomes visible in what we can finally put down, an old grievance, the need to prevail in every conversation, or the pride that makes an apology difficult. Seated upon her lotus, Maa Siddhidatri invites us to consider how we use whatever has been entrusted to us. Knowledge brings a responsibility to teach with patience. Influence gives us opportunities to protect. Experience should deepen our willingness to listen. The offerings enter the sacred fire, and the hands return empty. I find a quiet lesson in that gesture. We can give something wholeheartedly without continuing to claim it. May the devotion of these nine nights accompany us into ordinary days. May someone encounter greater kindness, fairness or courage because of what we have learned. Om Devi Siddhidatryai Namah. #Navratri #MahaNavami 🪷🧘‍♂️🛕

After a difficult night, even the ordinary light, through a window, can feel like grace. On the eighth day of Navratri, Durga Ashtami, we welcome Maa Mahagauri, the eighth manifestation of Durga. Her name evokes great radiance. Dressed in white, riding a white bull, she carries the trident and damaru while offering protection and blessings. After Maa Kalaratri’s encounter with darkness, I find something deeply reassuring in her serenity. There is a peace we reach slowly, through the patient work of understanding what has hurt us and deciding how we will live afterwards. To me, her radiance invites an inward cleansing. We might begin with the resentment we rehearse, the harshness that has entered our speech, or the judgment we have mistaken for certainty. Each deserves our honest attention. Ashtami also brings the beautiful tradition of Kanya Pujan, honouring the divine in young. I keep returning to what that reverence asks of us after the prayers are over. It must continue in how we listen to girls, protect their dignity, support their education and respect their aspirations. May Maa Mahagauri bring gentleness to the places within us that have grown weary. May the peace we seek in prayer become something others experience in our presence. Om Devi Mahagauryai Namah. #Navratri #DurgaAshtami
