Great question by @TeacherTapp Pretty sure most contracts mean that IP belongs to employer. Loads of complex points for / against. If created in school time/my time If inspired by shool provided CPD / weekend CPD (e.g. ResearchED, #MathsConf ) 1/n

I've seen great questions written by others and and written similar qns that built on them. Who owns the IP? Should I just hat tip or offer them some £? Should there be no IP on education? If so, how do we find innovation? No fair or easy answer.

The weather is vile Half term has begun. Why haven't I seen this autumns Edu-Twitter storm yet?

I've never seen an interview like this. So much raw honesty and bravery from a genius as he goes through an immense struggle, and the interviewer responds with compassion.
Mark Allen: “I’m just trying to survive at the minute. My snooker career might be over.”

Dear @ArborEdu Can you add a 'clock here to email all staff who teach this student' on each students profile page? This would save many thousands of hours.

hi @ArborEdu Can the screen be modified please? I can't read this without squinting. I am 52, my eyes aren't the best but this is a real struggle to read. Thank you.

‘Oracy in schools is incredibly important.’ ALSO: ‘Don’t expect students to contribute answers in your lessons - it’s detrimental to their mental health to be asked to speak in front of others publicly.’

As a teacher- all homework must be visible on 1 system As a governor-all homework must be visible on 1 system As a parent- ALL HOMEWORK MUST BE VISIBLE ON THE SAME SYSTEM!!!😵‍💫😵‍💫 Please. Navigating multiple platforms causes frustration for families. Even good schools do this.

To clarify, use as many websites and mediums as you like. So long as the deadlines can be seen in one app / place that's easy forpupils and their parents to access. Or, just use good old fashioned planners.

School are overwhelmed with ways of communicating homework: Emails,Teams,Arbor,Bromcom,Sparx, Seneca,Show My Homework,Class Charts,Class Dojo,Sway (whatever that is), Share Point (no thank you),One Drive (that's Share Point isn't it?)... Simplify it! I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL!!!

A great read. So much work to do on this, so many strategies. The magic is in how/when to use any strategy, most of us are nowhere near where we need to be on this. Turn&Talk,Think Pair Share, class reading, phonemes, etymology, cold call, choral response, batch call... Lots of to do.

We're heading into an era of ideologically driven, superficially appealing edu-fads again aren't we.
The Secretary of State can not mandate oracy any more than he or she can mandate formative assessment, or peer tutoring, or anything else in the EEF T&L toolkit. The SoS can use the levers at their disposal: Ofsted, KS2 tests, National Curriculum, and GCSE specs. 🧵

Dear Arbor Rather than making busy teachers fail aldetentions one by knee, why not allow us to do a bulk action when multiple students fail to show up. Teachers are busy, we need to focus on teaching and learning, you have the power to make admin much more streamlined. Thank you

Dear @ArborEdu Can Arbor be programmed to automatically set detentions when a student is marked as late? This would ease the cognitive load of teachers so they can focus - laser sharp- on teaching as effectively as possible. Duplication costs attention and time. Thank you.
