De Gua's Theorem scales the Pythagorean theorem into 3D, proving that the squared area of a right tetrahedron's opposite face equals the sum of the squared areas of its 3 legs; did you know this spatial relation was presented in 1783? #Math #Geometry #MathType #STEM

When is a complex function truly differentiable? The Cauchy–Riemann equations give us the answer. By linking the partial derivatives of the real and imaginary parts of a function, they establish the precise condition for complex differentiability. #ComplexAnalysis #Mathematics

Hi Envy Sleepy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! When defining f(x) as a differentiable function in the interval (a,b) we define the derivative exists everywhere in the interval. So f(x) = |x| isn't differentiable in the interval (-1,1) because f'(0) doesn't exist.

In mathematics, the Hessian matrix, Hessian or (less commonly) Hesse matrix, is a square matrix of second-order partial derivatives of a scalar-valued function, or scalar field. It describes the local curvature of a function of many variables. #math #mathematics #mathematical

Rolle's theorem states that for a differentiable function with real values, if it takes the same value at two distinct points, then there exists at least one point between them where the first derivative is zero. #MathType #math #mathematics #mathfacts

The Digamma function calculates the logarithmic derivative of the Gamma function, tracking how factorials change across the complex plane; did you know evaluating it at integer values links directly to the Euler-Mascheroni constant? #Math #MathType #Calculus #STEM

Uniform Continuity ensures a single delta window bounds function changes globally across an entire domain, preventing steep local blowups in real analysis; did you know continuous functions on closed, bounded intervals are always uniformly continuous? #Math #MathType #STEM

The Bernoulli distribution is a fundamental concept in probability theory that models a random experiment with two possible outcomes. These outcomes are often labeled as "success" and "failure," making the distribution helpful in analyzing the probability of binary events.

The Pauli matrices are a set of three 2 × 2 complex matrices used in #QuantumMechanics in the context of the intrinsic angular momentum or spin. They appear in Pauli's equation which is the formulation of the Schrödinger equation for spin ½ particles. #MathType #math

A simple harmonic oscillator consists of a mass m that, when displaced from its equilibrium position, experiences a restoring force F. This force depends only on the position x of the mass and a constant k. #math #mathematics #mathematical #mathematician #mathproblems

The DFT transforms a sequence of N complex numbers (x) into another sequence of complex numbers (X) and is used to perform Fourier analysis in many practical applications. In digital signal processing, the function x(n) represents a signal that varies over time. #MathType #math
