Preach!!!
Parents, your son's head coach gets calls from college coaches during the season
When that call comes, the college coach is not asking about stats
He is asking what kind of kid your son is. How he handles adversity. Whether the team respects him. If he shows up every day or just on game nights.
That phone call can open a door or close one
A friends team in Cooperstown for baseball tourney. The team has 11 players. They’re on their 7th game in 5 days!! Possibly 2 more tomorrow-11 kids? How many pitchers? They all play field. How many innings they pitch in total? This is why we have the arm problems down the road!

Pet Peeve: Hitter takes Strike 1.
Should have swung at it.
Instead: Nods head yes to umpires strike call.

Read the thread - good stuff and variations you can use in the weight room
The biggest mistake most young athletes make in the weight room:
They train like bodybuilders instead of athletes
They chase the pump, do endless isolation work, and move weights slowly… then wonder why they’re still slow and stiff on the field

Here’s exactly how I have my athletes train in the weight room to actually get faster, more explosive, and stay healthy👇

It is tournament weekend, and most families have the coach's attention backwards.
Parents film the home run. They film the diving catch. They post the highlight.
A college coach at that same game is watching the at-bat after the strikeout. The walk back to the dugout after the error. The body language in the eighth inning of a long day.
They are not buying the best moment. They are buying the worst one and how your son answered it.
The tournament does not evaluate the play. It evaluates the player between the plays.
Huskies fall at North Plainfield 2-1.
Corbett & Fanelli pitched well. Michaud 1-3

When I was struggling with TIMING, I asked Dusty Baker what I needed to do to get on-time.
He told me 1 thing:
“When the pitcher shows his back pocket… you show your back pocket.”
That simple cue helped sync my load with the pitcher instead of rushing forward.
Next at-bat: line drive in the gap.
Stinks to not win-Good when don’t lose =the Huskies tied Pemberton in a rain shortened game 4-4. Huskies were up 5-4 but ⚡️ was seen & game reverts back to previous inning. Smith & Corbett pitched well 🎖️. Ryan Lasko had 2 🦇 & Mark Fanelli 2 🥩. Huskies now 9-12-1 @JSSInsider

It happened again.
An 11-year-old threw more than 160 pitches over a weekend because adults decided winning mattered more than arm care.
#Youth baseball has a responsibility to protect kids — not sacrifice their future for Sunday trophies.

So many travel coaches say:
“We had to push this kid extra pitches because we didn’t have enough arms for the tournament.”
Then maybe don’t enter the tournament!
If your roster can’t survive a weekend without blowing out arms, your team isn’t ready. Period.

High school teams play 3 single games a week…
Then summer tournaments hit—
6 games in 3 days. Sometimes 3 in one day.
And we wonder why arms break down?
Makes no sense…
But yes I know it’s about $$$.

Went to a HS game yesterday. Had a D1 coach come meet me there to watch a kid.
During the game, the team’s catcher would sprint to his position every inning.
He’s an underclassman, the D1 coach wasn’t there for him, he is now on that coaches radar.
Some things preached at every level -
▪️sprint to your spot between innings
▪️show off your arm in between innings
▪️serious throws in the INF/OF and as a catcher
You can be 0-3 and still make an impression
