97%+ of over 65s are registered to vote. Only 2/3s of 18-24 year olds are on the register. If you turn 18 on or before 4th July you can register to vote right now. Do not lose your democratic birthright! It matters so much. It only takes 5 minutes. gov.uk/register-to-vote

The GMC say they won’t lower their standards or requirements. The below is a snippet from a GMC meeting stating they intend to approve PA courses where the requirements fail to meet their standards. Why wouldn’t they do the same for medicine courses? Is the GMC lying to you?
There has been some news coverage today about four year medical degrees that are being considered by NHS England, as part of their long-term workforce plan. As is the case with all proposals for new programmes or medical schools, our role is to make sure they prepare students for the Medical Licensing Assessment gmc-uk.org/education/medical…, and meet the standards and outcomes for medical education and training set out in Promoting excellence gmc-uk.org/education/standar…, and Outcomes for graduates gmc-uk.org/education/standar…. We won’t be lowering our standards and requirements. Our website has further information about our role to make sure medical education and training in the UK is of a high standard: gmc-uk.org/education/how-we-…

How on earth did the Speaker think this would be okay? Refusing to let a Black woman speak, *forty-six times*, in a debate that was partly *about* her, is just... extraordinary as a choice.

This morning @Keir_Starmer made his thoughts very clear on @LBC that ministers should now be coming back to the negotiating table.

The Government says we walked away from talks  - but it was them who walked away.   Ministers can’t even explain why they won’t talk to us while strikes are planned, like they did with barristers.   Come back to the table with a credible offer and we can end this now.

Does he seriously think anyone is falling for this ‘alms for the poor’ crap? Pay them a decent wage and they can buy their own treats, dickhead.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been seen at King's Cross railway station purchasing seasonal treats, which were reportedly for key workers. Latest politics news 👉 trib.al/YKanzN3
