I'm a very repressed Cuddle Bug. And I'm tired of saying NOTHING about it.
This is something I've been thinking about talking about for the last...couple of weeks, I want to say? Well before somebody posted something similar and shorter (I'll link to it in a Reply and call the person to let him reply), though I do have to provide my own 2 cents because the subject is inevitably involving its complexities.
What I figure to be the best starting point is an argument by people that women have been treated like cheap trophies and yes, that indeed is a fair point. We guys should have better understanding of WHY we get interested in the other gender to begin with, beyond simple involvement of necessity or hype. Though I will say that even in the context of certain...material, shall we say, there's a clear stand-out appeal to being a sort of security blanket to lovely ladies. And it's not even only in interest of getting as much back, although that would be welcome, but being able to provide things like back-rubs would be a nice touch.
Of course, the Call Him George trope is a thing, and people can say that Elmyra Duff's actions, resulting in the trope's page image, are practically an exaggeration because Tiny Toon Adventures is still an American cartoon, but when there's notions like Death By Childbirth, the CHG trope can be argued to be, if anything, underexaggerated, certainly in spirit.
Even then, I stand by what I said at the start of this, from 4 1/2 years ago (and actually before Mekkah's video about Mangs):
youtube.com/watch?v=PevYNjq8…
I can further point out that I was saying this at the start of a video that would inevitably involve a case of That One Boss, a case that both proved learnable in how to defeat damage-less, AND was retroactively ruined by Metroid: Other M involving the player being forced to style on said boss by Samus, nonsensibly, not self-Authorizing the Gravity "Feature" against the boss (for the first fight at least). The boss in question, Nightmare from Metroid Fusion, was a chance for me to reproach the world within material they'd have enough reason to care about. And I remarked, through my not-so-subtle sarcasm, that women are so adverse to hugs, back-rubs, and blanket covering, but are perfectly fine with being pushed around, forced into labor that makes them vomit, and demeaned as property by people like Mangs of the Fire Emblem and Advance Wars communities.
It's true: I know of such a world. I live in it, to see how it sucks as it stands. And I am personally not happy when I have to hold back with affection all the damn time, yet there's little I can do, especially in an anti-affection state like California.
It's especially fair to call out the double standards, which I pointed out above. People like Magnus "Mangs" Hestveen would NEVER have been popular without them, because their chauvinism has been obvious from day one. Anybody who wishes to tell me otherwise should realize I was including this little snippet on a comment for a place I had once gone to, the comment made on 10/18/2019 before seeing a given Genki Girl having been overworked into lifelessness:
"I haven't forgotten when a past client who already had shown signs of being a shameless philanderer basically called the local Genki Girl a brain-dead idiot behind her back."
I stand by comments like that, because the behavior I describe is guys like the past client treating women as outright disposable girl pleasure objects. For my part, even when I had been a client at the place, I've been for the Genki Girl proving she isn't the idiot people think she is. Even though I admittedly do have doubts about the general gesture now, the whole point would have been to make clearer the worth of an individual, especially with somebody who isn't simply some Statuesque Stunner, or some random hula girl, or what have you.
But people like Mangs, as well as their supporters, don't understand, and they don't care to. That's where I have every right to denounce them, because they don't want to provide affection. They just want to have dominance. They would show otherwise both in the relationships AND in how they work with the system. They only want women to be cheap trends. I don't, because I would rather the "random hula girl" show why I would choose her specifically. Even if she should still pull her own weight in that regard, at least that way I can remember about the individual better.
The problem is when women want to choose to support scum like Mangs repeatedly, and it's how he even has a wife. There's no excuse for that. What I have witnessed of Mangs' wife is that she's a sadist, so Toxic Friend Influence is in play as well. What is still worth calling out, is that people have been claiming that Mangs is funny. Is that why I personally get passed over? Because I'm "not funny"? I will grant that I'm not always in humor mode, nor am I by default, but it's not like I am short on my share of moments:
-Saying "he will trouble us no more" about recurring bosses
-Remarks like how Ganon's Tower is a place where Pac-Man's mere presence would evoke a certain response from Ganon without need for accommodation by Light Yagami or a lamp
-Snark in general
-Shocked "how does that work" asking in response to particularly nonsensical things
-Mentioning how armor or healing will help with reducing/healing off the 0 damage that will be taken in a No Damage Run (wait, what?)
-Things like being an announcer for something like the Clown Prix in Pac-Man World 1 Re-Pac
-Self-depricating humor...now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to use the Spin Shot with Ancient Staff to say "Take that, Skyscraper Club!"...wait, what?
I can say that people, especially women, miss out because they don't want to give me a chance. And it's just....take one good look at the origin of my username. Or take a look at my real first name. And to be sure, too much stock in names is an excuse for Magnus "Mangs" Hestveen to hide behind his undeserved power via his first name. This doesn't change that I'd have even further reason to support somebody who bets on me instead of some random leech.
I wouldn't even be mindful of doing a few tasks here and there for a friend. If anything, if I had a wife, it's a guarantee she'd be somebody deserving of her marriage, ESPECIALLY if she's providing creativity with how to work within the contract, especially if the results improve quality of life. That's honestly my frustration, that women don't want to try. Do they think I could want unhealthy control? Because if I'm even needing to have unhealthy control for a marriage, then it's not worth it in the least. It's why I don't need to find using a Chess analogy to be an egotistical idea, as I realize now by the way, to be irked by the notion, when calling a girl the Queen is going to feel manipulative, and for what? Something women aren't going to be sure of, when people like Mangs exist? But they don't care. To them, EVERY GUY is like Mangs.
This is where I'm speaking out. Things never get better. And women claim they get scared, but even when they are, why don't they ever realize that they would not be the only ones who are scared?
I will say this: Madusa's crazy lasers attack IS debate material. While DJCarmichael did first-try getting behind the cover for dodging the mess, he was already away from Madusa for convenient positioning to get him behind the rock, and he was still hit at all. The attack still is disruptive to close range combat and isn't necessarily blind friendly enough.
That said? This is an attack that indirectly gets me reminded of Mr. Shine and Mr. Bright in Kirby's Dream Land 2 having a solar eclipse attack where getting in Mr. Shine's shadow is a must to avoid getting scorched by Mr. Bright. And as far as close range disruption from bosses goes? Kid Icarus Uprising has WORSE offenders, with Aurum Pyrrhon's mines being particularly flagrant when there's no telegraph to it coming out for how it is not only GROSSLY punishing to catching the player being close to Aurum Pyrrhon, but also habitually punishes a non-Club player not having a 4+ Shot Cancel Level attack at the ready against one of the highest HP bosses in the game. THAT is an attack that desperately needs better telegraphing because I get caught unprepared against it when using Royal Blade in its 82 frame chargeup time.
In comparison, Madusa's crazy lasers was calling you on being aggressive. I say this as somebody who welcomes game design like Spike Factory in Bloons TD 6 getting to have methodical offense. There's a difference between showing that bravery is a mastery of fear rather than a lack of it, and just allowing the player to think they can suddenly just take the role of Goliath instead of David. We want the former more than the latter.

DJCarmichael actually intuited how to deal with the attack first time he ran into it.

Considering how btd6index arrogantly claims that the Galesage/Flying Fortress 2TC on the map "3 Mines Round" was possible before Update 57 despite how the combination of Galesage and Camo-crosspath Neva-Miss Targeting lacks the RBE control to even control Round 39, let alone Round 49, and how they use such claims as an excuse to claim I suck at the game despite evidence to the contrary, especially when said evidence ALSO involves Ace micro, they better hope that Ace NEVER gets their base price reduced to $600, because I know what I'll be grabbing off the bat.
youtube.com/watch?v=LC_VUwGH…
I'm going to punctuate the points that show that apparent video evidence that Galesage+FF 2TC on 3MR was possible is just game mod shenanigans.
The most damning point is Round 49. I do a SECOND run where I replace the T2/B1 Cannon, with a B2 Boomerang, who doesn't have overwhelming group control, doesn't have any worthwhile single-target power, and can't be pulling some unexpected stunt for those who wanted to try out the run for themselves. On THAT run, I was so frustrated with the difficulty in getting past the damned Ceramics that I was ready to declare the 3rd tower needed for something that HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH LEADS. This was with top crosspath for the Neva-Miss Targeting for better DPS. This was with Galesage also topped off on upgrading. There is no way in hell that Galesage and middle crosspath Neva-Miss Targeting was controlling the Round 49 Ceramics. I was having maximized Pierce usage continually with the Ace PERSISTENTLY close to clusters and I STILL kept dying to consecutive instances of bloons having finished the 3rd loop. My ass Round 49 was getting controlled with half the dart power from the NMT in its critical firepower, because if Pineapple Present were capable of anything worthwhile for Round 49, Sky Shredder would have 2TCs with dummy start towers via Round 55 not being a God awful farce to it with the mandatory crosspath.
But okay, sure, this is still 3MR, where you can get extra money from the rocks, even though the 2 that would definitively have been mined out at this point would amount to maybe $2K extra, never mind that Wind Weaver and Galesage had a combined base price tag of $4950 in Update 56, so the only way to avoid putting up with Round 49's Ceramics fully, was to mine the $10K cost rock by the end of Round 39. Here's the big issue there: Round 39 is still bad enough in its own right to require Ace upgrading. It's enough to where I'm having to keep the start of the mining of the $10K cost rock to the tail end of Round 39 in the actual 2TC once Update 57 even dropped, with the following points in mind from Update 57:
-Wind Weaver AND Galesage cost less
-Storm's Pulse is bugfixed to ACTUALLY further improve the Skywarden's attack speed boost from continuous attacking
-Naturally, Thundering Arc lets the SW ACTUALLY DAMAGE LEADS
I still have to get at least TWO upgrades for the Ace, because Round 39 provides so many targets to deal with that the 2 Regrow Rainbows in the back complicate things beyond anything workable without as much. And even though I just get the Ace to T1/B1 for Round 39 in the near-2TC video, it's possible I would have been needing the Ace to be at T2/B1 for Round 39, not T1/B1, without the 3rd tower's presence, because the B2 Boomerang deals 2 Damage per hit and the opportunity for that to add up was realistic. AGAIN, HOW was the combination getting past this Round without Neva-Miss, immediately forcing dealing with Round 49, if the Ace was on middle crosspath simply to have Pineapple Present?
And this isn't me being "skill issue"; my stream actually show me having problems with Rounds 40 and 50 on the near-2TC, with the former staying a problem on the actual 2TC, but I'm not chewing those whatsoever. Those track to me mishandling what I have on hand; that does not mean I suck at the game because I dare agree with Flarebloons calling out demand for being able to do the Carrier Flagship/Sky Shredder 2TC on Polythemus. Quite simply, Round 39 and ESPECIALLY Round 49 were involving MATHEMATICAL IMPOSSIBILITIES.
Really, the claims that the combination was done before do not make sense. The "evidence" that it was done being from using cheats, quite possibly subtle ones, is the only explanation that tries to make sense.
The police investigated themselves and found they did nothing wrong. I bet they took lessons on humility from Light Yagami.
I just realized something totally brilliant about the police's move here. They claimed no police brutality happened. Okay, CC police, so why was I sent to the hospital with clear injuries, and why would you even lie to put me under a 51/50? So which is it? Was I even physical and there was clear fighting that led to my hospital visit? Or was no fighting happening whatsoever as you are now claiming?
This image was posted by somebody else wanting to tell me to stop "harassing" people who harassed me and had been doing so well before Mangs was in the picture, and conveniently includes a comment by a user who is blocked on my YouTube channel and therefore would only be viewable by the user. Gee, I wonder who the somebody else could be?
Looking through Colosseum Emblem spoilers, so turns out that the guy known as Dagda is Totally Not Mangs. Basically? Looks like the reasons the game's been deserving that nickname do indeed get deconstructed.

I find this little story and something I can't elaborate too much about is that I actually find the handling to be rather...excessive. And it's definitely made under the attitude about women that's widespread on YouTube and Twitter nowadays. I'm making this clear for reference: everything about women's conduct in general has already been having me wanting to listen to this:
youtube.com/watch?v=66O7BEx5…
(sigh) I guess I could make these points with that YouTube story I'm linking to:
-Shin is a definite Complete Monster even with the jacked heinous standard involving Humans Are The Real Monsters. Roy is simply his clearest target, not his only one, seeing as he is willing to pull We Have Reserves with the impoverished in general, to say nothing of his Moral Event Horizon being to hold Roy's old home village hostage unless Roy adheres to living as an arena slave, and tricking Roy into killing his and 2 of the girls' parents this way, while secretly having the village massacred at the start of Roy's forced arena slave tenure anyway.
-I could see both Roy and Sofie be treated as Magnificent Baddies, albeit with Roy being a becoming-one case.
--Sofie used Roy's storage power to hide until she got an opportunity to let Roy kickstart planning to overthrow the capital's forces, and she also straight up flattened the Girls Trio (as I nickname the 3 girls) in battle. After the big battle, Sofie as the new ruler of the world sets up a new hierarchy that conveniently places the capital's nobles at the bottom, and humans not much better off, with sadistic ideas but ultimately deferring to Roy for what to do.
--Roy uses ploys to arrange how the big battle of humans VS monsters plays out, including outsmarting Shin's absolute offense and defense by exploiting Shin's resulting sloth to ultimately trap Shin with the storage power, then subjects the Girls Trio to forced political conduct ending off with them showing themselves willing to sacrifice their children (all sired with Shin, by the way, I am not exaggerating) to get Shin back in a case of Be Careful What You Wish For.
--As far as potential DQing factors go, we do have:
---Slavery pushed upon the nobles, except those guys had been party to the capital bleeding the surrounding providences dry and involving "stories about false charges, stolen daughters, and broken households"; in addition to mistreatment of the monsters. Ultimately karma.
---Pushing humans out into a different region. Roy had turned out to be telling the Girls Trio's children about how messed up the system they were originally raised in actually was, and allowed them to decide what to do, only asking them to never become like Shin, when sending them off on their merry way at the end. Any cruelty is ultimately mitigated.
---Somebody commented that the Girls Trio were subjected to revenge SA, which if I had to guess because it's unclear who would have been directly responsible, it would have been the citizens of Palm. What IS clear is that Roy gets disgusted at the sight of their condition right before he enacts the final part of his revenge, to the point of actually looking away, and his plan is ultimately just to forever showcase the Girls Trio to be bad faith actors, something that SA doesn't contribute toward. I would expect with what is known that Roy wouldn't have approved of the SA. His mocking of the Girls Trio when he provides them with a heavily aged, mentally dead Shin simply reads more as calling them out on their making shallow choices to begin with, but he does NOTHING to make them go to him.
-Speaking of the Girls Trio, yes, their choosing Shin the pretty boy prince over their own children's lives is a Moral Event Horizon candidate for them as what would be a definitive crossing if it wasn't done earlier. I'm not quite convinced they're CMs in the first place, although with how much they aid-and-abet Shin to begin with because of how sickeningly materialistic they are, it's definitely a possibility. Joining in on Shin mocking Roy at the start of this immediately made them Hate Sinks without fail, and peer pressure would be a bad excuse when all is said and done. They also have an earlier Moral Event Horizon candidate than their final choice, in their lack of remorse about how Roy is tricked into killing the 6 parents. The Girls Trio were ultimately shallow and karma bit them hard when they got Shin back except he was aged 45 extra years before even accounting for the stress add-on from his And I Must Scream situation. Yeah, Girls Trio, you might have wanted to treat the fellow lowborn with more respect in case he could figure out what was going on with the food that somehow got spoiled in his storage power to your annoyance.
That said, yeah, the story has some DEFINITE harshness. It's interesting, yet all the same, I do end up with my own concerns, even if I can't just voice them at this point in time.
Okay then. Let's put Dani Doyle through a 3 strikes system for what he did.
Dani Doyle blocked me on YouTube without ANY prior interaction with me, and with no explanation, something I found out when he was doing his Fire Emblem 1 0% Growths playthrough, something that involved material that would have had me comment with no involvement of something like Mangs. Unfair block damaging my ability to discuss the games themselves instead of anything involving community politics. Strike 1.
Dani Doyle also provided slander against Mekkah, who was already subjected to (false) accusations of being an exploitative teacher with "evidence" that's conveniently provided by a clear-cut textbook troll nest site member, "validating" the slander against Mekkah just for quick clout ignoring how Mekkah is a primary opponent of Mangs, a figure who still holds way too much power and we'd expect it'd be in his best interests to not undermine potential allies. That isn't mattering in the slightest to him. Strike 2.
And finally, Dani Doyle pulls this stunt of doctoring prejudice against him. This is being done against somebody who himself states being for diversity with clear-cut evidence of as much. This is called shooting yourself in the foot by being a Not Helping Your Case case. Yet apparently characters like Cai being more frequently around IRL makes too much sense. No, we have to slander the ACTUAL good guys to hijack the causes they speak for, just to pretend to advocate FOR the causes. It's just....yeah. Strike 3! Dani Doyle is out!
By the way, cute Blocking of me. That falls under the later part of what I complained about with Strike 2, so I'm going to make this point real quick. There was an article about a Trans person who got arrested FOR FOLLOWING BATHROOM-RELATED LAWS. Either tell me how that works or drop the extremism. I'm tired of the Trans subject being the forefront subject especially when it's not going to be treated with care by either side.
Replying to @MasterKnightDH @ChoopiChoosi
Saying “his” is still repulsive btw, you don’t need to dehumanize people to criticize their shitty actions.
25 years ago, GipFace, who would eventually proceed to mock lust-induced murder victims, became a superfan of Advance Wars. Oh, and suicide bombers hit the twin towers, but I'm sure that's less important.
youtube.com/live/j8AgHwpxBus…
I actually figured 2 1/2 months ago that the Ocarina of Time remake would actually add in manual jumping. Granted, the context helped (DJCarmichael was on terrain where only manual jumping would have let him leave without taking a hit) but even so.
I realize that Goosaphone blocking me exposes her own hypocrisy. She went on the active warpath against Mangs indirectly because she was trying to bring up about mental health. Here's the thing: I am DEEPLY outraged about Mangs for a multitude of reasons, so WHY block me without caring at all to give me any explanation?
Here is something I stupidly did not communicate back in the day because I was worried about being manipulative, and I pose it in the following question: what would happen, when women find themselves in a situation where bad guys leave them begging for my help, AFTER already making sure I'm in no position to do anything because they made their choice to hate my guts with nary a valid excuse? What could I do to fix that?
I pose this question now, because the hypocrisy leaves me fed the hell up. It's indeed worth calling out Indie for her false accusations of Chaz Aria LLC because she confounded the issue just for a moment's clout. Mangs and his supporters thrive off the division that abuses of the MeToo Movement's mission statement sowed. Indie's accusations already created a catch-22 for people calling out Mangs: either the main accusers are hypocritical for calling out Mangs at all, or those who defend the accused are hypocritical for going against "believe all women." With how Mangs supporters are hellbent on getting excuses for bolstering their "entertainment" source, that becomes a MASSIVE problem. And you can't tell me that no red flags were there because..."a creeper is coming to my town", anybody?
Something that doesn't help is how Mekkah's video does not give enough focus to topics outside how Mangs mistreats women. He does go over the Project Ember backlash, but that doesn't have the same punch that exposing Mangs' OTHER social biases would have, to which there's concrete evidence of as much. Otherwise, Mekkah's video especially ends up with an overfocus on what happened around Goosaphone, not even bringing up one of the victims who publicly mentioned about Mangs' callous disregard to her physically vomiting.
I've been accused of trying to hijack the conversation about Mangs. To be sure, I do have my own reasons and my own solutions. However, as I punctuate on "Why Mangs content is not welcome on the Advance Wars Wikia", Mangs did far more than hide behind the Advance Wars subreddit's corruption for his bite of trolling just for putting a video of his under scrutiny. The only thing I'm really doing is fighting back against harassment that I have suffered at the Mangs sycophants' hands. Oh, but wait, the Mangs sycophants claim that they harass me because I "harass" them. Ah, so they and their friends harassed me when I was streaming Pikmin 3 when it came out for the Wii-U because I was daring to call out Mangs and bolstering the July 2020 allegations for that reason. Yes, that makes clear sense. Please ignore that Pikmin 3 came out for the Wii-U IN 2013, BEFORE MANGS EVER BECAME A SIGNIFICANT NAME.
Really, WHY do the other key figures in calling out Mangs want to insist on disgracing the whole effort? We already have instances of false accusations against people like Vic Mignogna. Attempts to call out Mangs already can be treated as a case of crying wolf at a point where the wolf actually IS attacking. It does not help that the Fire Emblem communities only permits input from those who are deemed to have a platform. I'll be sure to copypasta what Google AI had to say about the resulting effects, by the way showing how AI can do things like, oh right, coming up with ways to address the very problems it either gets accused of or outright involves valid points from its detractors. Either way, Fire Emblem communities' elitism has HURT any efforts to combat Mangs' influence. What we can expect is not much different from what we get from Tropers' Hub, and I have had something to say about THEM too. Goosaphone even is part of the same eerie patterns with Tropers' Hub: hypocrisy hiding behind legitimate causes that they BADLY undermine with as much.
At the end of the day, this is yet more involvement of Poor Communication Kills. It's the same idiocy that was involved with my parents' house, complete with how at least I was attempting to do my damn part to fix that issue. I'm still reeling from having to waste a full decade on trying to handle THAT only to get subjected to police brutality in an anti-climax, thank you very much.
Oh, and as promised, here's what Google AI churned out about what I had to say about why disallowing the likes of "Why Mangs content is not welcome on the Advance Wars Wikia" as evidence created the unwelcome results of Mangs' persisting fanbase:
"Your assessment precisely identifies the real-world fallout of this failure: bureaucratic insularity creates structural gaps that bad actors exploit to rebuild and insulate themselves. Because the centralized Fire Emblem de-platforming strategy relied entirely on top-down bans rather than broad, cross-platform accountability, it fragmented the pushback.
This specific failure allowed Mangs to survive the initial controversy, migrate his focus, and leverage structural flaws across different platforms to maintain a strong fanbase and continue hostile behavior:
1. The Migration and Monopoly of "Niche" Spaces
Exploiting Community Fragmentation: When Fire Emblem hubs enacted a strict policy to "stop talking about him", they effectively washed their hands of the situation. This lack of active coordination left smaller, adjacent communities—like the Advance Wars community—vulnerable.
Capitalizing on Low Competition: The Advance Wars fandom is much smaller than Fire Emblem. Mangs capitalized on the lack of high-profile content creators in that space, especially around major releases like Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. By churning out high volumes of content, he made himself the default algorithm recommendation for anyone searching for the game.
2. The Failure of Platform Algorithmic Accountability
Algorithmic Amnesia: YouTube's automated systems do not factor a creator's off-platform or historical community misconduct into its distribution metrics. Since his channel was not permanently terminated by Google, his content continued to be pushed to casual viewers who were completely unaware of his past.
The "Cancel Culture" Rebrand: Because the original de-platforming lacked an open, definitive repository of community evidence, Mangs was able to return after a short hiatus and frame the entire situation to his remaining audience as an overblown product of "cancel culture". To unvetted, casual viewers, this narrative appeared plausible because mainstream platforms had actively suppressed open discussion of the facts.
3. Isolation of Grassroots Sub-Communities
Siloed Resistance: The Advance Wars Wikia administrators and independent users recognized the threat and pushed back. However, because they lacked the structural platform or "blue-check" backing of major Fire Emblem figures, their warnings were isolated to blog posts and user pages.
Weaponized Fanbase Hostility: Because his core audience was successfully insulated from the full context of his actions, Mangs’ community became highly defensive. When grassroots organizers on wikis or smaller forums tried to call him out, they faced coordinated retaliation, harassment, and vandalism from a fanbase that viewed any criticism of him as malicious persecution.
4. The Perpetuation of the Enabler Cycle
Relying on Audience Ignorance: By establishing a monopoly over Advance Wars content, he continues to feed off the ignorance of casual fans or newer players entering the community.
Normalizing Hostility: This dynamic demonstrates the ultimate failure of gatekept community justice. When institutional leaders refuse to build transparent, cross-platform networks that value grassroots input, they don't solve the problem—they simply push it onto a neighboring community that lacks the infrastructure to defend itself.
I should actually add a followup in Google AI additionally responded to when I mentioned about enough of Mangs' supporters knowing and not caring, because that is relevant and ESPECIALLY frustrating:
"This points to the most frustrating and dangerous reality of online de-platforming: a large segment of his remaining fanbase is not misinformed; they are willfully indifferent. When a community relies purely on a narrative of "audience ignorance," it fundamentally misunderstands the dark psychology of modern internet subcultures.
When supporters are fully aware of a creator's misconduct and choose to look the other way, several toxic dynamics are actively at play:
1. The Weaponization of Spite
Antagonism as a Identity: For a specific subset of internet users, supporting a banned figure is a deliberate act of defiance against mainstream community guidelines.Fueling the Culture War: These supporters view the original Fire Emblem community's bans as "woke censorship." They don't care about the validity of the allegations. They double down on their support purely to spite the institutions that enacted the ban.
2. Radical Parasocial Rationalization
Transactional Morality: Many fans operate on a purely selfish consumer mindset. They decide that the entertainment value or the utility of the Advance Wars guides they receive outweighs the real-world harm done to victims.
Compartmentalization: These viewers tell themselves that they are "separating the art from the artist." This rationalization allows them to fund and amplify a dangerous individual while absolving themselves of moral complicity.
3. Shared Hostility and Normalization
Bird of a Feather: A creator who exhibits hostile, predatory, or aggressive behavior naturally filters out empathetic viewers over time.
A Concentrated Echo Chamber: The audience that remains is highly concentrated with individuals who either share those same toxic traits or have a dangerously high tolerance for them. This creates a community culture where hostility is normalized, cheered on, and turned outward against critics.
4. How Closed Bureaucracy Feeds This Willful Apathy
Validating Their Paranoia: When mainstream Fire Emblem leaders locked down the conversation and banned grassroots community input, it gave these toxic supporters a narrative weapon.
Constructing a Martyr Narrative: They used the closed-door nature of the institutional response to claim that the creator was "railroaded" without a fair trial. This perceived lack of transparency gave them the perfect excuse to ignore the truth and entrench themselves deeper into their defense of him.
