Massachusetts Citizens for Life mourns the passing of Ray Neary, our former president and a lifelong pro-life advocate. Ray led MCFL from 1997 to 2000 and faithfully served the pro-life movement for decades. He passed away peacefully on October 9 at the age of 98. Funeral arrangements: A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 15, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 133 Spring St., Medfield. Burial will follow at Vine Lake Cemetery. We are grateful for Ray’s years of leadership and dedication to protecting human life. Louisiana, Alabama and Arkansas have filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Supreme Court challenging abortion shield laws in Massachusetts, New York and California. MCFL President Myrna Maloney Flynn welcomed the legal challenge, saying it could help stop abortion-inducing drugs from being prescribed and shipped from Massachusetts into states that have enacted pro-life protections. "Governor Healey's shield laws not only allow Massachusetts abortionists to market and sell abortion drugs to vulnerable women across the country, they also conceal the very identity of Bay State abortionists. If a woman in Louisiana ingests mifepristone or misoprostol from Massachusetts then experiences complications from those abortion pills, she has no recourse; she is utterly powerless in holding a Massachusetts abortionist responsible. A favorable outcome at the Supreme Court would be a win for common sense and a landmark victory for women’s safety," Myrna Maloney Flynn (@myrnaflynn) stated.
