It’s actually the other way round Mr. President. There is a reason the right to life and the fundamental freedoms come first in the Bill of Rights. More than anything else we want to live in a free and democratic country because in the dark of the grave where you put Rex Maasai and Albert Ojwang, you can’t see shiny things.
President William Ruto has declared that freedom and democracy are meaningless without development, sharpening the political debate with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna over what Kenya needs ahead of the 2027 general election. Read the full story here: shorturl.at/rIhJz

The real tragedy of living in a third-world country is that you can do everything right and still struggle because the environment is designed to make ordinary things unnecessarily difficult.

The world treats people differently when they have money. Your reputation, appearance, background, or what other people think of you can determine how you're treated. But money has a way of changing those rules.

The older I get, the more I understand why people disappear into gardening, baking, reading, and long walks. Not because life got boring. Because peace became valuable.

Is he done ranting about the 24K I pay for his housing scam because kuna hii 43k I pay every month for his SHA scam we also need to discuss. Tukimaliza hio ndio tuongee juu ya the 500k in PAYE he takes every single month and splashes on tea and mandazi pale state house all the while insulting us the taxpayers that carry the burden of his greed. In 2027 we are cutting the fat out of our budget to bring relief to all Kenyan workers. The housing levy will go with Ruto.

A woman will travel to the Gulf to work as a maid. The maximum she can earn is KSh 40,000 a month. For almost 14 months, half of her salary will be deducted to reimburse the agents who facilitated her travel. But 4 months after arriving in the Gulf, she will have bought an iPhone 17 Pro Max. Her little pikin, whom she left under the care of her parents back in Kenya, will be transferred to a private school. By the time she completes one year in the Gulf, she will have bought land worth 2 million and started building a house for her parents. With a monthly salary of 40k, she would've earned KSh 960,000 in two years, assuming she receives her full salary without any deductions. That money would still have to cover her personal expenses, her child's school fees, her parents' upkeep, an iPhone, land, and the construction of a house. The numbers simply don't add up. Ata hapa Kenya with a salary of 150k you can't manage all that. Compare her situation with that of a young man working as a security guard or handyman in the Gulf, earning almost twice as much. He could spend five years there and return to Kenya with little or nothing to show for it. When you ask these women how they manage to achieve so much in just two years, the answer is always Ni God manze! Buana, watu si wajinga. We know the kind of services some domestic workers are providing in Gulf mansions beyond their official job descriptions. Some of these young women become PPIs, supplying high voltage electricity to the men of the house. What starts as domestic work can turn into a lucrative but risky arrangement, with money changing hands in exchange for the Mzee of the house hearing good escapedé. In some cases, young boys as little as 14yrs old buy shares in the same dogo kundu stock exchange. All male in that house get a taste of the food that faces the earth. The investment plan will go on for a while, but trouble often begins when the Madam of the house discovers what's happening. Suddenly, complaints about the working conditions in the Gulf start appearing on social media. Before long, the woman returns to Kenya, having accumulated money from PPI (Private Prostitution Investment). Once the money runs out, she looks for another agent, and the cycle begins again. Ask yourself this.. why do some women return to Kenya claiming they experienced hell on earth in the Gulf, only to board another flight back there after some few months. Not every woman working in the Gulf is involved in such arrangements, and many endure genuine exploitation. But where the figures don't add up, it's fair to ask questions rather than accept every explanation at face value. Mtu asiku danganye, 80% of women in the Gulf sell the food that faces the earth. As for men, for you to compete with ladies over there, you must be ready to lubricate your Sundus namna hatari. Otherwise they'll continue calling you a failure for working in gulf all those years without any tangible investment compared to your female colleagues. Kama kawa sisi walala hoii hatuna maoni, Letu Jicho tu.👀

This idea that I should be worried about getting a visa to America simply because I have an opinion is actually part of the problem we need to address as Africans. For the longest time, we have been made to believe that criticizing these so called “first world countries” might cost us an opportunity to visit them, and sadly, that fear has kept so many people silent. I have always believed that these visa restrictions exist by design. You make people so desperate for access to your country that they become afraid to question you, while making millions from visa applications that don’t even guarantee entry. Meanwhile, we are busy welcoming citizens of these same countries into our nations, some without even requiring a visa. I think we have spent far too long giving these countries power over us, including the power to determine what we can and cannot say about them , yet they say the worst about us.Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but the winds of change will blow across Africa. We will make Africa Great Again!!And I genuinely hope we get to a point where no African feels the need to silence themselves just to qualify for a visa.

Dear Prime Minister Ambani, Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India. Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete? There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better. Thank you 🙏
