I wonder if Piers Morgan asks this question of every child of an alleged abuser? If Police told Meghan of allegations it’s on them to follow up, not her.
This Thomas Markle story is shocking, and if guilty, he must face full force of the law. But it raises a lot of questions: if police alerted Meghan in 2018 to allegations so serious she ended all contact, why was he not arrested? And why did she not go public to protect others?

Almost forgot how nasty people can get on here - but it is quite hilarious when half the replies to a post about someone else’s comments are “they didn’t say that” and the other half are “yes and they are right”

This guy utterly dismantles the populist politics of Reform and Restore in 90 seconds. It’s actually quite beautiful. Take decades of deep-rooted problems in Britain and convince people that a relatively tiny proportion of the population is responsible for all of them. Housing, the NHS, crime. Blame illegal migrants for everything. Suddenly, you don’t need credible solutions to the housing crisis, NHS waiting lists or crime. You just need increasingly extreme policies on immigration. And by the time people realise you never had meaningful answers to the vast majority of Britain’s problems, you’re already in power, handing out tax cuts to your donors.

So most of this is good, but I don’t know a single woman who will tell a man she doesn’t really know her address. And if a man pushed to get it that would be a complete red flag.
Attention Young Men: I am surrounded by 20 year old girls in my life that are smart, capable, hard working and cute. Nobody is dating them. Not sure what the deal is, but I don’t get it. Step 1: Stop playing video games Step 2: Head to great clips and get that lettuce cleaned up Step 3: Hit a shower (when dating hygiene is critical) Step 4: Go clean your car Step 5: Sign up for a yoga class Step 6: Go to the yoga class Step 7: Ask a cute for her phone number at yoga class (yes you can meet girls IRL and not just on the apps - 10/10 the Dirt Dog highly recommends) Step 8: Follow up within 2 days with a phone call and ask them out for this coming weekend Friday or Saturday night. Step 9: IMPORTANT - come up with a good game plane for date night. Get a dinner reservation, get an activity planned. Let them know in advance what you are doing so they can dress appropriately. I know you are gunna roll off the couch and head to date night, but they are not. They are going to stress about what to wear and call at least 6 different people on FaceTime to ask their opinion. Step 10: I highly recommend you bring flowers to the door step. I’m not covering that you go to the doorstep, because if you don’t do that you have no hope here. Women want men to date them. You don’t need to break the bank on flowers. Head to Trader Joe’s. Grab 2 different kinds of flowers. If you don’t know what matches find the closest looking lady to your mom at TJ’s and ask her. Wrap the 2 flowers into 1 bouquet with paper. Bonus Points you can cut open a TJ bag and use that as the paper. Step 11: Be a gentleman on the date. She isn’t there to hear your life story. Ask her about her. For every 1 question you answer, ask her 3. Open Doors, pay for the meal, be polite. Provided you follow most of this guideline you are highly likely to get yourself an opportunity for date number 2. Keep going until you find someone that you can’t imagine not being around all the time. That’s when you have found a good one for you. My life is complete with my wife as my companion. I wish you the same fortune in life. Happy Hunting.

Sex can be shitty and something you regret without being rape. Defining a binary of “sex I was glad I had” and “rape” is just as bad as defining it as “not rape” and “violent sexual assault”

This was me. Had always planned three kids. First pregnancy with OC on NHS was horrific. Only went ahead with second because work insurance covered private treatment. Gave up work and couldn’t face another awful NHS experience (or to pay for private treatment

I know more women than I can count who have been put off having another baby as a result of traumatic or actively disabling births.

“Transformed” is an incredibly useful word
Congrats to all for a great campaign. So sorry it wasn’t enough but tripling our vote share was huge. On Zack’s next steps - his leadership has transformed the party. I hope he now brings the same leadership to help resolve huge issues we face & transform our internal structures

NEWSFLASH: A man of "good character" does not hit his wife over the head with an axe, strangle her to death and then lie to cover his tracks. I am so sick of hearing this and seeing the pictures of these men smiling, laughing and presented as the perfect husband. Every single time. Every case like this, and out it comes. This is domestic violence. It does not begin with an axe. It builds, and it builds, until the day she tries to get out, the most dangerous moment of her life. I wonder when she asked him for a divorce?

Whilst I think Kemi, and her children, should be able to call themselves English if they want, her rose tinted view of racism in football in the 80’s and 90’s is maybe because she didn’t come to England until 1996. John Barnes might disagree with it.
Kemi Badenoch draws a dividing line with Reform UK - and in particular Suella Braverman - giving a passionate defence of being a black Briton. “I don’t want to explain to my son when we’re watching our brilliant England team play football, that some people don’t think our black players are English. I remember back in the day when Ian Wright and John Barnes were playing. Nobody was questioning whether they were English. We certainly didn’t have sitting MPs questioning whether they were English. “We must not let these people take us backwards. That is not the country we are. Reform MPs are openly questioning people’s identity. They are not like us. We are not like them. We are different. We are the Conservative Party. "Back in the day, we were the ones who put out a poster saying ‘Labour says he’s black, we say he’s British’. We are still that same party. I don’t know whether you’ve noticed, but I am black. I am British. I am proud of my country. I’m proud of our history, all that we have done, and all that we will do in the world."

We don’t fix racism in this country by pretending it didn’t exist and doesn’t exist. Lots of people do agree with Reform on this, and have been emboldened by people like Braverman making it seem OK to say openly racist things and claiming it’s not racist, it’s just a fact.

This is crazy - means old people will stay in houses far too large for them to manage to keep them as a tax shield.
Badenoch announces no one will pay inheritance tax on the value of the family home. Which brings the risk that no older person will sell before they die. Oh dear. And she says she will add £1m to the tax free inheritance tax threshold

Men finally finding out what their wives have known for years…
The problem with a lot of AI assistant use cases is that specifying the work to be done in sufficient detail actually IS the work.

Silicon Valley keeps building me a husband when what I really want is a wife lol I don't want an agent that only does one-off, random tasks that are nice but not life-changing: booking flights, making dinner reservations, or buying tickets I want an AI wife who knows what’s on the family calendar, remembers there’s a birthday party Saturday and we haven’t bought a gift then sends me options, realizes we’re almost out of diapers and buys them, knows which bills are coming up, remembers someone needs a dentist appointment and books it, figures out what the hell we’re eating all week and what we need from the grocery store, and generally keeps track of the 47 things that need to happen before anyone else even realizes they need to happen. So, who's building me an AI wife that carries the mental load instead of an AI husband that waits for me to give it a chore??

A friend with kids slightly older than mine passed on a great tip. Teach your boys that consent is a bare minimum. They should be aiming to only have sex with people that are enthusiastically participating. Not only will your be a better human, the sex will be far better
Boys, listen. DONT FUCK WASTED CHICKS. this is what you do: you get her number. You tell her if you wanna fuck tomorrow, we’ll fuck tomorrow. You put her to bed, and you’ll leave her the fuck alone until she’s sobers up. If you don’t fuck you tomorrow, she wasn’t yours to fuck.

I don’t think I know a women who hasn’t had some sort of unwanted sexual contact by a man. From the wolf whistle my daughter first experienced when 13 and wearing hockey kit to the rape by a man they know that too many women have experienced and not talked about.
Have you ever been sexually assaulted or experienced unwanted sexual contact by a man? You don’t have to tell your story. I want men to see the answers. Funny how women know so many victims, but men never seem to know a rapist.

I may be one of the few people who has become less cynical since I got involved in politics 12 years ago (a good man and good therapy helped but I was starting from an extreme) Listening to Burnham this morning I felt real hope.

I’m not going to agree with him on a lot, but it’s good to have a PM who has spent his life wanting to be a politician. Someone who has a sense of public service, and has always wanted to fix our country and make things better for people.
